Re: New style side skirts

Ok guys hear me out very carefully........!
I m the owner of that white nsx u see with new side skirt. When it comes to fixing up my baby, I m very very picky with everything I put on or I touch.
At first, I thought wings west side skirt was the best looking side skirt they produced but I start having problem with them. First of all they don't fit right and they started to sag on the bottom. When I met stacy last year! I thought he was just another guy with nsx and want to make his car look nice, but he's some one that I respect and appreciate his work & time he put on this side skirt. Trust me if it didn't look nice it wouldn't be on my baby!...
The side skirt look very JDM and clean. It looks very like 2002 side skirt but if you look very close and compare, it's totally different looks from any angle. If any of you have any questions about the side skirt feel free to ask me any questions....... I m very happy with side skirt and I thank Stacy with all hard work he put on this product........ Thanks again Stacy........

Re: New style side skirts

Thanks for posting. Again, how do you mount the door kit?

How tight are the tolerances in terms of fit? I think they look great.

Also, can you specify how they look different from the 2002+?

From this photo I really can't tell the difference... (That's a compliment to Stacy's skills)

Thanks.

Re: New style side skirts

Wow very clean!
Thumbs up for another NSX product..

Re: New style side skirts

The bodyshop used urethane to mount the door pieces and side skirts. Also included in the kit is a aluminum rail that sits under where the sill goes, this screws to the car and skirt rests on top.On the bottom side of the skirt is 3 straps that get screwed(using self tappers)to the underbody giving the skirt a solid mount. As far as clearence, again the bodyshop of your choice will have to fit the side skirts. The clearences however are very good.I will try to get more pictures of this car and mine.I will post the raw skirt against the car, before any bodywork,so that way you guys can see the fit youselves.
As far as difference in the two(stock '02 and mine) is the fact that mine are a little more rounded than the '02 and also are lower by 1.5 inches, giving it a lower look!!!
Hopeully I will post pictures of both and then you can compare.
Stacy

Oh yeah one other big difference "PRICE" LOL!

They look Great!!
Congrats on a great finished product.
I will take at least one set.

Re: New style side skirts

Stacy,
Looks good. I'm interested!
Can you post/send photos that show close up details, ie wheel well areas and door fit?
Is there any way to get a photo with a '02 rear valance and the '94 front?
Also need to know if they are removable without any damage to OEM paint or other parts.

Re: New style side skirts

New Style skirts are in the first and second picture and in the third picture is pre'02 factory.Do understand that in picture two your door sills will lay over as well.

Re: New style side skirts

Here's pictures un-touched from the "Fiberglass Guy".Understand he is the one who skims the door piece. The kit is right out of the mold! All fitments are like this.Excuse the arms, fingers and legs in the pictures I had to hold them in place so you could see how they looked. The aluminum piece does get screwed onto your car thus supporting the skirt all the way along the sill. There are 3 metal brackets that are molded into the skirt on the backside for support, which will get 3 self tapping screws as well.Hope you get the idea it was a little hard to hold and snap pictures!!
Anyway now you get the idea of the fitment you would be receiving.Again a bodyshop will fine tune it,as much as they hate it!!! LOL

Re: New style side skirts

You doing front end piece too?

Re: New style side skirts

I'd love to have a lower font bumper that was a molded one piece based on the WW front lip. I like the look of my WW spoiler, but it has that "added" on look which makes the front end look a little cheap..

Also, I'm curious as for why you won't sell it to someone who hasn't bought the side skirts if you decide to produce it. That seems like a big roadblock for making some good money.

OK guys what will it take to get you guys to buy a set of skirts!!Wings west is done for the time being, and you need skirts before summer.Lets make a deal.Let me know what you guys would like to see eg front spoiler, vented skirts.Let me know.I talked to the fiberglasser today and he said we should be able to put a vent in these.TALK TO ME,let me know.
Stacy

If you put a vent in the side skirt please make it run completely parallel w/the factory vent. I hate the way wings west vent angled slightly upward.

We are going to try to mold these in.Pretty simple just time consuming.
If that doesn't work I will build new rocker molds.A little bit more time consuming LOL.

Re: Side skirts

Very nice. Quite likely the best I've seen.

I couldn't leave well enough alone, so I had to photochop to see what they'd look like with an oem-like scoop.

(Edit: Took the photos out to reduce clutter. They didn't look so great and the ones a few messages down are more what I was after anyway.)
