Rocker Panels

Yes they sit a bit lower than "wings west".If I remember correctly about 1.5 inches lower.Wings west are not much lower than factory.Measure them you would be surprised.Quite deceiving.

Re: New style side skirts

Hi Stacy, the result looks awesome. Im interested in purchasing a set for my 95 with 04 front and rear conversions... Curious how much shipped to 12514? When will these skirt kits be available... thanks!

Re: Side skirts

Leave them rounded off at the bottom like stacy's original side but the vent looks way better than wings west.

Ask and ye shall receive.

Keep in mind, though, that I am not limited in any way, but people who actually make skirts are limited by the structure behind the skirt, so it's hard to say if a scoop like this is possible.

(I put the scoop right up at the edge of the skirt because I figured there would be the most room inside up there. It also allowed it to be bigger vertically. Again, no idea if that's feasible.)

Anyway, here you go...

EDIT: Yah, they do look better rounded.

I would sell to all !!
Stacy

I can't argue with that.

OK guys I have been getting alot of e-mails and private messages. You are interested!! For the first five sets shipping is on me(to lower states)
I feel like I am doing an infomercial. LOL!
Stacy

If anyone puts a set of these on a black NSX, I'd like very much to see photos, as that's my own car's color and I think I might like a set. It's about the only color I can't chop from the photos we have now.

Thanks...

I have had numerous questions about how low they sit.I pondered it today and can find no reason that we/you couldn't cut a little off the bottom. If you take an 1 inch or so off you would look even closer to '02,You end up losing the radius at the bottom(squarer look).if this is a concern for anybody else we have the technology to compensate!!
Thanks.

Tomorrow, ladies and gentlemen ,after work I will post a picture(in rough form) of my side skirts with a vent. However,I am not going to make these until I know positively they will sell(meaning deposits).Any ideas after the picture is posted will be much appreciated. For a price, depending on mods,I can modify these skirts to your liking.I could make the vent a little different or the skirts a little shorter, etc.
Until tomorrow goodnight.

Here are the ones with vents, sorta like the Wings West vent only mirror imaged.I also shortened this skirt by 1.5 inches.Open to comments!!
Also this was a quick bodywork job(Rough idea).Once colour matched it will look better(right now stands out too much).Take a look at the "New Style vented skirts" A couple of posts below.(It is like Wings West).compare the two.

It is and it was an idea because the one thing I didn't like about the wings west was the part behind the vent wasn't proportional. This is just a prototype easily reversed.Just need to get ideas.Would it look better same shape as wings west but pulled to the rear more?Just means the vent won't line up with the top one. That will be tomorrow's job.
Thanks for your comment!

Yes!! You really have an amazing talent!!

Thank-you! But its not a talent,"Just a willingness to never have any free time and of course, embarrass yourself".
Wings west vent in 1 hour.Rough but the idea will be posted for comparison.

Here are the "New Style vented side skirts"
The pictures are a little dark, the bodywork is rough and like I've said 100 times good enough to get the idea. These skirts will also be about the same height as Wings West.I trimmed some off the bottom of the original "New Stlye sideskirts"It's the only way the vent will look good.I will round the vent a little more(this was just a quick job.

I think you're losing some of the original appeal by trimming the bottom. I like the idea of a matching vent, but I personally find more appeal in the lowered look. I say find a way to fix the vent, not the height. :)

Edit: Gonna promote my earlier idea again: Nudge the vent up next to the top of the panel, if it's physically possible. It lets you make a taller vent that balances better with the upper vent without needing to shave off the bottom of the panel. I also think it should be shaped more like the upper vent (slightly tapered as it goes back into the car, and rounded), but that's probably just personal preference. Here's a quick chop:

(Man, I wish I had Stacy's skills/equipment. Photochops only go so far and I kinda feel bad trying to convince someone else to try my ideas on their stuff. Alas, I'm a software guy, not hardware. ;))

Understand that this was just a quick throw together thing.I will round off corners later. As far as the skirt being full length, tried it first and didn't look good at all.I ended up with too big off a space at the bottom of the skirt under the vent.Make the vent bigger, you say,yes tried it somehow it looked off balance. As far as bringing it closer to the top edge,I will try that after work tonight.
Stacy

OK guys this has been shortened by 1.5",it is the same height as Wings West.
I will also offer the vent with the original "New Style side skirts".I will have to add $40.00 to trim the bottom. You can however have your bodyshop do it that way you have the choice!
The skirts are $750.00 for a limited time!
Again this is just a prototype,I am able to change it to the majority liking!
I also will offer both versions with vent and without.
Thanks for your patience.
Stacy

Wow, man, you're fast!

How deep is the vent? I'm curious how it will look from the front.

BTW, I made another photochop because I wanted to see how it looks with the original lower, rounded bottom. It's probably not quite right, but it's close. It's definitely the option I'd choose.

You and I need to hook up and put some ideas together!
Anyway the vent will be even with the side edge.Otherwise I can't pull it out of the mold.I may cut the ones now and splice in the vent, that way it could be longer, however this would be more expensive because of the bodywork I would have to do.
If enough are interested I will go ahead and make the vented molds and start producing ASAP.
I know will offer "New Style side skirts"
"New Style side skits vented"
And remember if height is an issue it can be trimmed from the bottom edge!
The original design is 1.5 inches lower than Wings West.

I moved this one almost far enough forward so the backs of the vents were in a line, but not quite. It didn't look right with them exactly lined up.

What do you think? I think I'd be willing to take a pair that looks like this, assuming the vent looks good from the front.

(I also color matched it this time. :))
