Where are all the Production deliveries ??

34 new ones delivered in the US in January 2018.

Clearly, the number of dealers willing and able to provide incentive plus further discounted 2017s is running down.
 
Dealer IN only shows Niello and Fresno cars left in CA.

I looked at the one in Fresno-- they didn't want to sell it to me, saying it was pre-sold. A beautiful and well-equipped NSX (although I like the Valencia Red :cool:that I ended up with better)

Maybe it didn't actually sell? They also mentioned 20K rebate

A month ago there were around 15 for sale in CA !

Do you have access to the number of unsold 2017's left in the country? Just curious?

I can use the dealer vehicle locator to get a mostly accurate number. Some dealers may have cars they are hiding from the locator tool and some may be sold and still show up here if it was done very recently but this should be mostly accurate.

Also, the first 2018 NSX was delivered in Chicago this past week. I believe 1 other 2018 has landed and awaiting delivery as well.
 
Yes, thank you for taking the time to respond with the data...... Perhaps it will be useful to people still looking. I pulled the trigger and bought my car in November, as I was concerned about waiting too long and losing the chance to buy a reasonably priced car. It is predominantly the higher priced cars at or near $200k that are left, so glad I bought when I did. I would think, at this point, dealers are less likely to deal on high priced cars and less willing to break even than before. Might as well keep it in the dealership as an advertising draw...... I wonder if new 2018's that are ordered are eligible for the $30k Acura rebate?

18s are not eligible. probably wont hear anything until there are less 17s on the ground.

Well the entire point of making 2018 BTO only as that there won’t be a need to severely discount the cars. They will sell less cars obviously but they developed an entire BTO experience and only a fraction of customers ever had they pleasure of enjoying it the way it was intended.

This should also help current owners or early adopters who felt like their cars value took a huge hit with that incentive. By limiting production and only making customer order cars they are hoping the market rebounds and stabilizes for the time being. I actually could see prices rising settling in the $130k to $150k range on the secondary market and staying there for a bit. All depends on if they hold true to their word and don’t flood the market with 2018’s.

Then hopefully 2019 model year sees a few updates and then a few years after that we see type-S coming to the NSX and then ultimately a type-R. Purely speculation at this point but I feel pretty confident the car will receive at least a few changes for the 2019 model year.
 
No one who bought their car from a reseller calls the Specialists.
What does that mean? These folks don’t know about the specialists, or they aren’t allowed to? What would they call the specialists for?

Is Acura considering making PMC tour less expensive (free) to folks buying the car new? (Like 2018+ customers.)

Anyone, including non owners can contact the NSX Specialists.

It is an observation from one of the Specialists that for whatever reason, they have not had interactions with folks who purchased their NSX from a reseller.

I havent; heard anything about changes in the tour pricing structure. Good question and I will ask about this.

I believe there were some tours included in 2017 deals to seal the transaction.
 
The update

Some folks are unhappy that 2018 cars are showing up on Cars.com. Acura gets it but some dealers will always go around the plan. Some dealers actually cannot keep the car in stock (ok, not many dealers).
No policy on dropping pricing for the tours to stimulate sales.
Another car in FL was crashed and may be totaled.
He saw 2 new ones near the office last week, a black and a red with interwoven.
Don't expect Michael B Jordan to be out doing photo ops with his car (not the brand ambassador kind of guy).
A couple of more cars had lack of power to the tranny issues.
They switched to Reliable from Pilot for deliveries due to damaged cars (wtf). The weird thing is they chose to deliver bruised cars and then try to make it right. This is completely counter to the original philosophy that the car needs to be perfect when delivered. Hopefully that kind of problem will only be in the past with Pilot dumped.
They did not know about the 2018 taken to Colorado for a snow and ice driving event.
They had no info on the blue car recently available on Copart.
Acura is being tight lipped about any changes for 2019 cars.
 
Precision Manufacturing Center or PMC is the factory.

There are 3 pay for play parts, see the cars being built, see the engines being built (and some of the big volume engines burping off the line), get some quality track time (2 or 4 hours)

There is also tour of the Honda museum they fold in
 
I I talked to an engineer who works at Honda he says they were supposedly making up to four plus cars a day and production has slowed to approximately one car per day, not sure how accurate this is but sounds like production has definitely decreased

If you look at NSX historical figures, after the initial sales surge, maybe an average of 200 cars per year for 10 years. (too lazy to do the math).
Hearing that they are producing 1 car per day makes me wonder how long they can afford to continue making the NSX??
But...... I would guess that Acura never intended to make a profit on the car, and perhaps the real goal of the project was to show the world what Acura could achieve, not necessarily what they could sell....... Did they hit a homerun? Likely not, but I still think this is an amazing, albeit unique, display of technology, performance, and style. I marvel at my car every time I drive it. The haters and doubters gave the car a bad rap, but had it not been for them, I would not have benefitted from the huge discount I got on the car. For 2018, it puts Acura in a tough position. Keep MSRP high and risk little to no sales, or drop the price and give the appearance of surrender...... As I've said before, time will tell.
In the meantime, I'm going to enjoy mine fully. Life is short.
