Where are all the Production deliveries ??

83 delivered in the US in November 2017

The incentive coupled with some dealers discounting continues to move the metal

The number of new ones listed on cars.com has dropped to 99

That is a very nice/ respectable number....

The update

18s will be driven around the parking lot to evaluate issues, not on a track.
They did not know about the CF dash rattle but foam seems to address most issues.
They have seen some minor water leaks around door seals.
Unclear why the incentive was extended with the inventory this low, maybe just to blow out all the 17s.
One customer car died suddenly yesterday.
The car on Copart is up to $72,500 and bidding ends in a few days. The car does not look like it does in the picture.
Seinfeld had the first one with snow tires (they had to figure out the parts needed for him) and he drives his car often.
Nord Gray is likely to become extinct.
I let them know that with my iPhone X, I don't need to turn the radio on to play music using Pandora (weird).

They really should drive them around a track at least 40 miles parking lot is just BS. Combo high speed driving and mixed use would do the trick again just like Audi and would have saved me a lot of hassle and caught ALL rattles and especially WIND noise.

Where are the minor water leaks around the seals?? Im guessing area near above the door handle where it meets the small side windows in rear those seals could be tighter and if you spray the car (from the back with hard stream where glass meats rubber) water will come through slightly (very small amount) while washing car all other areas on window tight.

What did they do about the leaks? Glass adjustment?

Don't think it would bother anyone unless you go 200mph in reverse in a hurricane lol....

They know that track driving would provide a better shake down

Acura wanted to do this from the beginning but the low Vin # customers pushed back, not wanting miles or any visual signs of tire use.

Those customers have been taken care of but there is still concern about customers not wanting miles put of the car prior to delivery.

I didn't get granularity on where the minor water leaks have been seen but they are created from seals being pinched.

Interesting. To me it was a plus that first gen NSX cars were track tested at Tochigi before delivery, the testing is well worth having to see a few miles on the clock.

The update:

They are not surprised sales dipped to 56 in Dec 2017, agreeing that the number of cars at dealers willing to deal and having access to the incentive has dwindled.

Acura is satisfied that the incentive worked as intended.

They are pushing the test drive programs to sell cars.

The Specialist attended one in the desert and 5 of 8 attendees either bought an in stock car or ordered one.

The folks being targeted are high rollers, typically already having 4 cars.

They are not blathering about the discounts when there, apparently the exclusive offer to participate in the test drive is making a connection with them (i.e. I am special).

About 4 folks a month are doing the Ohio tours.

Production of 2018s is expected to comment soon, a few 2017s are being finished up. They do not know how weak the 2018 order book is.

No one who bought their car from a reseller calls the Specialists.

They looked at doing something for the early adopters who got screwed by the incentive. Sounds like that will not happen but a letter is being written to defend using the incentive to reduce inventory.

Acura is ok with sales being pokey and does expect all cars to be customer ordered going forward.

They do not know who got the repaired car from Copart.

No interesting mishaps in the the last month.

I told him about the recent drag race videos on You tube (vs P100 and 1L Honda bike), he had not seen these.

I told him about the Youtube who bought an NSX and didn't know the car doesn't have an conventional starter motor. He thinks the dealership turnover is leading to customers not getting all the info.

I let him know I didn't get my 1 Year of ownership recognition. He will look into it.

I was told by my dealer that 2017 production was done, and that 2018 models would begin production in March. I have not heard anything about any updates or changes to the 18's, so assume they will basically be the same as the 17's? I was really surprised at only 56 cars sold in December...... Hard to see how Acura can sell any 2018's with so many 17's still available. I'd say they're in a catch 22 situation. If they incentivize the 17's they won't sell 18's, and conversely, if they incentivize the 18's no one will buy the 17's.... Difficult to break into the supercar market that seems to be flooded with 500+ HP cars from dozens of manufacturers......

It’s really shitty what they have done to early adopters of the car. But it doesn’t surprise me why. They wouldn’t even let Nsx owners sit in them during expo 2 years ago. BIG surprise there. It seems like they are trying to sell Gucci bags and high end watches rather than just making a great product, pricing it correctly, and waiting for shoppers to come buy. Really weird this has all been for Acura. Yes, ACURA..... Not Ferrari...

I mentioned the the Specialist that I had seen a blurb, perhaps on Twitter from a dealership mentioning that production of 18s would begin in March.

He dispelled that.

They should of bumped the 2018 hp number by 30hp. Acura needs to follow thru with the 17's to get them sold, guessing they will all be gone by end of Feb as long as the dealers don't get greedy.

I will say how impressed I am with this car didn't really expect it to be this great when I bought it a few weeks ago.

Early adopters usually pay more. I’m sure Acura didn’t plan on discounting cars so heavily to move 17s.

When they released the car, they expected a big hit and the product was going to be "as is" for a couple of years.

Japanese companies tend to stick to plan so no changes in the 18s.

We do expect a refresh with the new grill but any other changes are just speculations at this point.

Many of the remaining 17s are at dealers who don't seem to care about moving them, so it is hard to predict how long they will sit on the floors.

There are only 78 new ones on Cars.com today and 24 are stickers over $200K.

So true...Even the first few owners of the '18 Honda Accord (yes, Accord) paid ADM for theirs when they first came out. This is the car that competes with the Camry and others every year for best selling car, and usually you can get any of these for deep discounts.

Yup agreed most dealers who have inventory do NOT want to sell their car or won't negotiate (aside from the $30k incentive) so the remainder 2017's will sit probably well into 2018. The longer they sit the harder it is to sell, not sure how they can't understand that logic.

I didn't want to start a new thread, but does anyone know of an Acura dealer and Porsche dealer that has an NSX on the lot, it makes it easier for me to deal with trades

But 66 are listed as "new"...... Not sure how many of the used ones will be eligible for any Acura $30k rebates. The average MSRP of the remaining 66 new ones is $192k. The majority of the low optioned cars have been gobbled up. I would imagine that there are lots of dealers left with new Acuras that will keep them for their use as a draw to their dealership rather than break even or lose money on it..... Glad I pulled the trigger in November.

If I owned a big store I would keep the car in the showroom.....the national tv ads support that strategy.

thanks, you may have misunderstood I'm looking for dealerships that are both Acura and Porsche owned by the same principals, this can be difficult to determine depending on dealership names
There should be some closer to you, but out here on the west coast there is niello.com. They own a whole bunch of brands, including Acura and Porsche. Speaking of which, they have a curva red NSX on their showroom floor. MSRP low 190s.
