Walked a C6 Z06

in fact . corvette basic c6 isn't even faster than the c5 z06. 0-400M test. nsx slightly fast. but i believe that its 400hp will beat our stock nsx in high end since it has a 100 extrea HP and lot more torque.

forgot to say, we can beat corvette in corner.

LOL. i think that corvette forum will get burned if they hear about it. z06 isn't that great. 7.0L engine doesn't achieve much respect from other people except those vette fans.

Is this some type of Event? Can you just go to the airstripe and drive fast?
 
a stock Z06 actually puts down around mid 400whp on a mustang dyno, so definitely great job beating one since they can do mid to high 120mph range at the drag strip stock.

Probably the greatest irony of the kill story genre is the failure to realize that victory is only worthy of merit if the losing car is a formidable opponent.

If the Z06 is not a fast car, then there is no great accomplishment in being faster. Paying respect to the slower car only validates the speed of the faster one.

And yet, in forums across the globe, people are claiming that Car A is a POS because Car B pulled half a car length.

When you look at the 0-150MPH times, the NSX gets KILLED.
--just a bonus, there is a guy who bought a brand new Z06 off the showroom floor, put drag radials on it and ran in the 10's.. on the SAME DAY. ..STOCK.
Do you even own a NSX or is that just some picture you found on the net.

So, now NSX with a turbo. So lets take a STOCK NSX that costs 90K and compare it to a STOCk Z06 that costs 70K. ( that is 20K less incase you cannot add). Now, lets throw another 10-15K into the NSX for the turbo set up... oh and you WILL need an engine build after it blows up-- its only a matter of time on stock internals.. Anyway, Now you are keeping up with a STOCK Z06 that costs 30K less. Now, just for fun, lets throw a turbo or sc on a Z06 and oh, no... the NSX is left in the dust... What now?

Now to address some others.

Z06 typicaly puts down about 450wrhp. Its a pretty big amount. What is interesting is that normal 2008 C6's with i/e/h are making close to 430rwhp. Pretty damn strong for a few K in mods on a stock c6.

For all you vette haters our there, You should give the C6 some respect. It is a hell of a car.

and for all you morons that will call me a "corvette guy" I have owned 2 NSX's and the second one made more power than 95% of yours -- YES it had problems, but it still made 412RWHP and was one of the FIRST MSL AEM cars on the road.

John -- I hope that lived up to what you were looking for. :)

PS. Although I do like my vette, I LOVE the NSX. Now that the AEM FIC is around, I feel a another NSX calling me...... time will tell.. though the price have gone UP!

As I said, this is less of a negative for the ZO6 than it is a positive for the NSX. The ZO6 is an amazingly fast car, a great performer (in the right hands) and a formidable opponent to say the least. In no way should the ZO6's abilities be downplayed. But I didn't really see that kind of immaturity here.

I'm not a Chevy fan nor would I ever own a Corvette but that doesn't mean I don't respect the ZO6 and what Chevy has done.

I am glad, I am not the only one who likes
to likes to get on it from time to time.

The Z06 to me is the best bang for the Buck.
There is nothing out there that can touch it for the Price.
Looks, Power, and pretty decently well built.
 
FYI -- The place that recently dyno'd my 91 CTSC at 382 whp (8 lb pulley, aem, methanol, etc.) told me they dyno'd a bone stock 2007 Z06 and that the 505 crank hp showed a whp of 434.

That's in the same neighborhood of two people I know with the same car (07' Z06).
One was a little lower than your number.

I have seen them around those areas.

Nothing really to complain about when you a car with 505HP and a 5-year powertrain warranty.

How many other cars with 500+HP come with that?

That is a pretty strong CTSC. Can you tell us more about it? Must be a blast.

Prior to getting the NSX I was always worried about the "VTEC - Japanese cars are superior to all others" mentality.

Never mind the fact that most NSX guys can't get the level of ass that guys with LS2 engines can.

It appears that there are a few bad apples that are the same ol' Honda boy-racer, but with a little more endowment in their wallets.

I've visited many car forums and still feel that the LSx guys are the more intelligent crowd.

I think I'll get a LS2 GTO to add to my collection......

i know what i am talking about. corvette has more power. of course nsx get killed in high speed. that's no doubt.i am just talking about the result from top gear.

i watched 3 times in the last moment of that drag race. this is what that corvette driver said " only 3rd for the corvette".

maybe he didn't do good enough?

nsx was 2nd in that 400M drag race. "slightly" faster than c6. i dont know if i see the result wrong. corvette c6 placed 3rd
 
i know i am new. i never have any experience with corvette. this is why i didn't say anything about it. i just talked about what i watched.

I feel quite the opposite. The New Z06 is one of the best vetts made, is really one hell of a machine you have got to try driving one! The amt of torque is so addictive and it pulls so dam hard. I don't see how you can say that the car does not achieve much respect from others. I love my NSX but don't knock the Z06 for being one of the best american cars ever made!

The Z06 does not differ much from what we all love about the nsx. It is reliable has decent interior room. It handles well and has rockstar looks! To top it off it does not have a large cost of ownership for what you get!

By the way K.O. Good run, it is good to see the NSX holding it's own on the street 17 years after production!
