Nothing wrong with renting Sarge. I couldn't get near the house I'm in right now if I were in the market to buy. Thankfully, it's on the market and the owner is desperate to get any money he can out of it, so I'm paying relatively next to nothing in rent for a 3000sqft/2 car garage that I can see the beach from. :biggrin:
I just received some renderings of our house, the colors aren't perfect yet and a few of the windows are shifted over a little bit but these images are getting closer!
The whole house is mostly framed, the roof trusses are about half way done.

I hope you found a very good automation company out in MI to take care of all your home controls for you at that square footage. I know there are some reputable ones out there in MI. I'd say a good 20% of our work is completely redoing botched systems out here in CA for customers who tried to cut corners on serious automation and ended up spending a fortune for us to fix their nightmare. Hopefully the company you chose was able to take you to some nearby homes they have done to show you their completed work. Only about 2 out of every 10 companies (and that's being generous) does exceptional work at that level. See their completed work in finished homes before you commit.
I'm curious what you have planned in your new home for lighting and av control. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out. Good luck. Looks like it's going to turn out to be an awesome home!
