Hey Carguy, out of Curiosity, what kind of software do you develop? Nice house by the way! My hat is off to anyone who can build a successful company from the ground up!

Most of the software that I am writing deals with large format imaging. My company designs software and electronics, our biggest customer is:

www.KipAmerica.com

We created all of the software and electronics to run the printers and scanners. Our controller is installed in every printer and copier worldwide. We recently developed a controller for a large format color model called the KC-80. Currently it is the fastest large format color printer in the world, it prints a full color 3' x 2' image in 8 seconds!

Is that a pond or spa/pool? Cuz it looks like my lil' spa/pool, and if it's a fountain or pond I hate you.

Here is a fixer upper I just bought. As you can see the outside was in pretty good shape and the inside was move in ready.

All of the pictures are titled with "small" in them. I tend to agree, the house is a bit small. Could really use an extra 20K sqft. ;)

HAHAHA, I was thinking how funny it would be to ask the GC to clear some of the woods so an addition could be put on, then just do the blank stare.

That is simply awesome love the multiple garage doors going in. Hope to see it when it is all complete. Congrats!

What a house! I'd love to know what brand of hvac you are using and also water and waste management.

imo the best part, woods all around it. are you putting glass in the spot over the garage door.

The woods are what sold me on the lot, we have a house in the U.P. of Michigan and it is filled with trees. This lot reminded me of being up north but is still close to my office and clients.

We are having five large timber trusses built that are going to be installed in a few weeks over the garage. There are some renderings early in this thread that shows what that garage will look like after it is complete.

I will try this the next time that I see him! I don't think he will buy it though, I have already tried similar items and he knows when to ignore me!

I will let you know when we finalize these items. I do know that they put in a 8" well that is able to flow at 100 gallons / minute and they put in dual septic systems that are gravity fed.

I am not sure what type of water filtration we are going to use yet, but I do know the water is high in iron content.

We are putting in a Geo-thermal system throughout the house and have radiant heat throughout the garages and basement. We are also using a Decktron system for controlling the humidity of the indoor pool area.

We are also using three phase power for the whole house.

I did A LOT of research on water filtration and this is a great system. Filter down to .2 microns. Self cleaning. I had one of these installed in my house along with large holding tanks and a huge pressure pump after all the equipment but before the supply. The pressure at the shower head will take a layer of skin off.

If you have colloidal clay or any other particulate in the water this is the system to go with.

At first I thought there was an added benefit of the system as my hair started to thicken up. I later found out shampoo to grow hair was combined with other shampoo in my bathroom at the old house during the move. Still not sure if that was an accident or a hint but it worked.

Guess it would make sense to post a link...

Incredible Carguy!
I can't wait to see the end product.
Have you considered installing whole house fans at strategic places throughout the house? They are inexpensive, and the ROI is a few months from the money you'll save on the A/C bill.
Thanks for sharing.

True! When it's all done, take your computer renderings, your build photos, and the finished home, and create your own thread. C'mon. . . .you know you deserve it; and so does your house.

I need more updated pics Carguy:cool:

I am almost done installing the Cree bulbs in my house. These things are the bomb. They do not dim all the way down like an incandescent would but still the quality of emitted light is awesome. I was able to find these for 70 bucks each. I can get more if anyone is interested.

This is my playpen. Almost paid for.

Google Maps recently took a picture of my house.

Here is the link:
http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&sou...578,-83.169393&spn=0.000791,0.001742&t=h&z=20

Since the picture was taken a lot more of the slate roof has been completed and the rear deck cement slabs have been installed.

I am funding the project through my company so I had to slow down the build a little bit, the good news is once it is done it is paid for!

Thanks for the update! That house is distilled sex!
