Nsx Prime / CRIBS

I am going to have a house warming party after it is done and I will post on here, hopefully some NSXPrime members can make it!

Probably a year and half away though!

Can't wait until it is done, congrats on such a beautiful house so far. Looking forward to one of the local Primers being at the party.

i'm going to try to contribute to this thread during the holidays.

in the meantime there has got to be some other NSXers with CRIBs worthy homes ...

I just closed on my new one on Friday. Pics are coming soon. Im super excited.

Update in no particular order:

The house is coming along slowly!

The slate roof is finished and the entire external structure is complete.

We are using the boilers to heat the house this winter and hopefully a lot of the interior stuff will be completed.

Most of the stone work on the outside of the house is finished and they just poured the cement rear deck. We still need to install the tile over the cement and install the railing.

We have all of the cameras installed for security now.

All of the electrical is wired for the top floor and they are planning on insulating this week and dry walling the following week. Most of the wiring is done on the main floor and should be ready for dry wall by the time they are done with the upstairs.

We have the final power hooked up (2000 amps) and a 200kw CAT generator installed.

The car lift that lowers cars into my basement should be hooked up and functional this week.

I will take some updated pictures soon! Still over a year out, paying for it as I go.

that home is epic...and Rome was not built in a day:wink: I think the fitout of a home that size is a life long endeavor. At least you will all get lots of exercise:smile:

carguys house makes makes me wish i had taken more pictures of one of my clients homes.

from what i recall
12,500 sq ft
a few acres of land backing onto a lake (with a deck)

some crazy things ....
-typical stuffs of house of this nature where the materials are sourced all over the world
-elevator of cousre for wheel chair access
-guest house connected to main house
-8 furnaces
-home theatre room with own air con unit
-golf simulation unit (the 100k top of the line model)
- electronics/server room looks like those 1960s cathode ray computers u read in highschool txtbooks lol
-pool spa gym (the basics), housed in heated glass room
- 5 years of planning 2 years to build the home
etc etc etc

the kicker is that property tax is 200k a year since the home is worth about 20mill

i brought my wife with me one time and her jaw DROPPPED.

Carguy, your elevator that lowers your cars in to the basement reminded me of this.

I always thought something like this would be superb. I'd like to do it when we build our home:

I can see the conversation with my wife as follows..

ME-- Hey honey, you know how our house is pretty awesome, right?

Her--- Uh, yeah.... now what..?

ME--Well, i was thinking... uhm.. the basement.. well, you don't really go down there much..

Her--- (looking angry)---Oh my god. NOW WHAT? You wanted 11 car garage.. I said yes... You wanted 12 AC units, I said YES. You wanted a goddamned home theater, even though you are never home to watch... and I said Yes..you wanted 3 panic rooms, plus one for the dog... and I agreed... NOW WHAT?

ME--- Well, uhm.... I was on NSXPRIME the other day, and...

Her---(Cuts me off in mid sentence).. ah, jeezus. Now that Carguy! basement thing again? Again? Really? Do we really need a car in the basement?

Me--Well, it DOES sound cool....
