and dont be telling me not to race, i can do what ever i want with my car.
people, i realized this forum is quite restricted for some topics like this one i posted. i didnt expect all the bashing and stuff from most of you but hey, that's how who you are, right ? instead of saying negative things about me and my car, i would have expected more advice from you, like saying 'dont race on the streets'....that, i can accept. but for someone who say negative things about me, then that's another story because you guys dont know me.
im a newbie, remember?
racing on public road. if u say that it is bad, it depends.
to cops, no doubt. they will kick ur ass if they see it.
to most people, bad at all. it will easily cause some serious accidents.
to those racing people, a lot of FUN . really amazing, exciting.
if we really want to play a long drag, i think we better race in some desert areas. like the 10 east freeway to desert outlet ( south california ) . been there 2 times. very few cars there. good road condition. rarely having cops there. go somewhere like that. have some drag races. it will be more safe than doing it in some public place. maybe we can enjoy it a lot.
for those people like to drive tough in corners, track is a great choice.
Simply put, refrain from racing on the street and take it to the track. However, if you must race on the street, and you don't want all the "bashing" (also known as sound advice), use some common sense and don't post it on the internet.
In any event, in the end you have a great car and don't let this experience get your panties all ruffled.....
In another thread you expressed why racing on public roads is bad. So, why would create a new thread talking about your street racing event?

Or, according to your post on that other thread, street racing is bad, but it's ok on the freeway?

like i said before, i'll see you guys around...maybe on the streets?
still.... it is unsafe and no different. nobody on the autobahn that is travelling at normal speed wants or deserves a 200mph car up their ass.
people also don't "sign up" for douchebags that do 100 different things while driving, except looking at the road. or drunk drivers. it's just there, and you have to look out for it.
i'm just saying - you can still do stupid things responsibly. if you have the sense to at least do the stupid things without bringing others into it, then i'd say you have a 1-up on most people
Give the dude a break, he already acknowledge what he did was wrong and accepted it. Some of the replies did come through as condescending and had no contributions whatsoever.
He admitted guilt. What else is there to talk about?
Just because he admitted guilt, doesn't mean he learned his lesson, or that he won't do it again.
This guy just doesn't get it. Nobody on the autobahn drives at what you or any of us in the US considers "normal" speed. To them, driving at normal speeds on the autobahn is probably closer to +100mph.
You can't compare that to American roads because it's not the same. The Autobahn was designed for high speed driving, that's why it's legal to drive at those speeds. It doesn't matter if it's right or wrong to you, it is LEGAL to do so. Like someone else mentioned, there are rules that you must still abide by if you CHOOSE to drive on it.
Autobahn roads are smooth, with no hard or abrupt turns. If you are to exit the autobahn, you are provided with an exit lane that is hundreds of meters long for your safety.
Bottom line, it's legal to drive at high speeds there. We don't have an autobahn in the US, so don't compare it.
Another example of maturity shining through at its best. I apologize if my last comment is offensive but you clearly are STILL missing the point. People here are NOT bashing you or your car but rather, offering some sound advice. Simply put, refrain from racing on the street and take it to the track. However, if you must race on the street, and you don't want all the "bashing" (also known as sound advice), use some common sense and don't post it on the internet.

put the car on track isn't much fun sometimes. i went to few tracks with a few friends in OCT,2007. they don't allow people race together. instead of saying race on track, i think we better call it solo track lap. they let every car go individually. so every car will have a far distance with another. if u really trying to race someone, u must be either too good to catch someone ahead you , OR you are a real bad drive to let other people catch and pass you. yes, street racing is sometimes exicting because u have a competitior. all about drag. ( most of them). if you can shift well, that will be enough. on track, i dont think every of us will get some experience to race another car in corning. espically, it's individual practice.
then what? beat him with a stick until it sticks? c'mon...

I've got nothing more to say than to echo everyone else. The guy realized what he did already, what more can you want? At least he didn't post a video of him chasing a Camaro while criss-crossing oncoming traffic.
i think we should just agree that people that don't like this kind of thread should roll their eyes without clicking on the link, instead of clicking on the link then writing " "
we're all grown-ups and can make our own decisions.
Well, here....I'm gonna throw myself out to be fried because I'm no saint.
I was leaving the road from my home onto a more major road. It ends in a 'T' intersection, thus you gotta make a right, or a left. I was making a right. On the left was a silver Porsche. There was light traffic and I had a clear opening and accelerated after making my right on the roadway.
About 15 seconds later, a car flies up the road impressively fast. But annoyingly he comes right up on my tail. It was a nice clear road ahead of me, so I shifted down and accelerated. Well now, so did he. "Hold on, those lights, the teardrop shape of them....That's a Porsche" I thought. Could it really be the same Porsche. I get to a red light. He is still behind me. Light's green..GO. I put the pedal to the medal and get up to 55-65 (FYI the speed limit is 50 but EVERYONE drives 60 or more)....DOH! the guy passes me in the other lane. I slow down. Look at the back of the car as I "Let?" (yeah right) him go by...it says in nice and clear polished letters ...... "T U R B O".
"Well then" I thought, feeling like a kitten that tried to take on a Bulldog....."I suppose that's why I got thoroughly spanked". He accelerated again but the road started to curve and he backed off. Or perhaps the fact that I no longer played with my accelerator, made him choose to just cruise. I pulled off into the next gas station to check my tire pressure and make a phone call and he pulls up.
We talk for a bit, and he speaks highly of the NSX's speed and appearance. It seems he was not prepared for the amount of speed the NSX displayed. He asked if my car was stock and I admitted that it was not; however, whatever mods I've added could not bring my car anywhere NEAR the HP the P-Car was putting down.
So, I wonder...if he goes to his respective P-Car forum and says that he "raced" an NSX and was surprised at the acceleration it displayed, will they be embarressed at his post? I hope not:tongue:
My point is...I agree to give Sudoko a break. Were his posts the kind one might expect from a very mature person? Perhaps not. Did he learn his lesson? It's likely, but how can anyone say that he hasn't? You can't possibly read his mind. Will he race "any car that taunts him" again? Well, at the very least, he may think twice about it as opposed to before.
My question is, what is pissing off so many other NSXprime members more? The fact that he posted that he street raced? Or the fact that he posted about racing a scion?
I'm sure he learned his lesson. If not, he still is a fellow NSX owner. Show him some courtesy. From what I can tell, he hasn't insulted others nearly as much as he himself has been insulted. That simply isn't necessary. Part of maturity is showing both humility and civility. Most primers did just that, a few have not.
+1. If your out racing Scions, I think your a little immature to own a NSX. Just my .02.
