congrats guys, this has been a very entertaining thread. how could anyone expect such a seemingly mundane topic could turn into 4 or more pages of posts ...lol
both sides to the story actually remind me of things i have done/said at various times so i'm admitting im no angel and since i cannot be impartial all i can say is i wish there were more tracks around to race on. I heard the Calgary lease on their track won't be extended past 2010. I would hope that the politicians try not to shove their heads too far up their asses to hear the outcry from those who want to keep it. It seems strange that here we preach the "take it to the track" philosophy yet tracks are being closed down. Makes you wonder if those rumors about street racing laws just being another tax grab are true.

The Scion got on 2nd gear WOT a few seconds before you to provoke a race. By the time you downshifted to 3rd, Scion already had time to speed up. You did not have the momentum yet and he was able to be reach your speed and kept up for a little while. Timing is everything. He caught you by surprise with his better timing and gear selection that's all.
Scion driver prob didn't care to keep his engine near the rev limiter. New Engine still in warranty!

Agreed with your entire post, except this. The police (especially with Ontario's pending street racing law) are becoming more and more intrusive. I've been pulled over many times for no reason. "Random documentation check" my ass. I think the NSX is becoming the next Civic/Integra: a car that youngsters like to race in, and as such the cars become police magnets. So to the OP, why don't I like street racing? Other than the obvious, because it makes my life more difficult. You can enjoy your car's abilities in legal environments - do that.

even if i own a nsx (non turbo) i wouldnt even play with Evos and Sti at all. on the other hand if i had the lovefab then :biggrin: anyday of week i say.

I had a JDM Type-R a while back and was comming home late at night with good condition roads and no other drivers on the road some random guy about my age pulls up in a seafoam green 92-94 civic 4dr and around 130mph he pulled away. No we were not street racing i don't approve of it. Just driving fast. I do find a lot of the 911tt guys always want to on friday nights comming home. The guy in the civic is now is my current mechanic and i don't use either dealerships in town now unless its under warrenty.:biggrin:

Pending? Bill 203 went through last spring. And all you need to get charged with "street racing" is aftermarket mods. ANY aftermarket mods. Oh, and you don't even have to leave your house. The cops can take your car and suspend your license because the new "law" is written in such a way that modded car owners "intend" to "street race". Ironic considering there is no street racing here, isn't it?
More people are killed commuting than so-called "street racing" but I don't see them coming up with anti-commuting laws.:biggrin:

Get this, when i bought my sti from chicago, and the registration hadn't gone through for some odd reason or another. i got pulled over by two police officers. one of them was just a rookie who started and the other one was his partner. anyways the usually questions, may i see your license. so i did and they checked my reg. and it came out that the plate was still under my acuar integra ls. but i showed them my registration and all from the subaru dealer that i transfer plates, so they let me go. 2 days later at midnight, coming home, i got pulled over by the same rookie cop but a different partner. i got pissed you know, because i knew that the fucking cop, was driving on the side going the opposite direction suddenly just did an insane U turn and pulled me aside. he said my reg. didnt match the car. i said to him, wtf (i really said wtf) how can u see my license plate within 1 - 5 secs and say that its not under this car? then i saw the rookie cop, the same one, and i said to him wtf man, you pulled me over bc u prob. told him about my plates right. he said yes, i said i already F prove it to you already, so i went through the same old deal again. then they just let me go. till this day, they still stake me out watching me. its bs you know, after a couple more of weeks i sold that damn sti, stupid attention from police officers. worts ever, i got pulled over 5 days in a row from 5 different cops harressing me about my plates. my town is small, so they know who drives what, bc there were only 2 sti in my city, mine and a blue one! or probable bc im asian.

Same thing happend to me for the same reason as you did. Got pulled over by same cop the lieutenant of North Kansas City Police 3 days in a row. Did engine checks and everything. He never gave me a ticket or real reason to pull me over. My two bosses got scared that they were all going to get tickets since he pulled me over in the work parking lot since they both didn't have front plates. He didn't say anything to them about it. Within the last year i got pulled over for no reason again. This time they called in two police cars and asked me the same question "you going some where?" then left and came back to ask the same question even though i already answered them. They didn't even check for drivers licence, registration, or insurance. They were just pulling me over to check me out.

Reminds me of the time I was siting at a light and this modified Chevy S-10 pulls up and rev es his engine I giggle and rev back the light turns green and he takes off spinning one wheel and going threw the gears all while never getting traction. I pull off all normal and pass him, as his drive shaft falls out of the truck and he pulls to the side of the road. I beep as I go by. LOL
At least make it worth the 2k in fines and all those points on your license "come on honestly its a SCION TC"
