Where are all the Production deliveries ??

What were the "owner videos" ?? Did they take videos of each car as it was manufactured? If so, that would be fabulous.....

They were synthetic

A combo of some rolling shots, factory stuff and ending with a shot of what your engine cover plate would look like

Kind of fun but in no way a history of your car on the production line

Got it..... There are plenty of Youtube videos of the factory showing the cars being built. Really impressive and shows how this is truly a high quality hand built car. Not your basic assembly line......

But that would have been a great idea. Have cameras mounted at each station and film every step of every car being built. I would think with today's technology, that would be possible. You'd be able to download it and see your car built. Just dreaming......

There are only 9 new 2018s on cars.com today

We have been saying that the dealers can still order cars for their showrooms

I am sure Honda is happy to have some order volume to keep the lights on at the factory

The emphasis is expected to be custom orders

This is still America, the land of immediate gratification, so folks want to be able to fulfill their impulse purchase after getting their bonus and buying themselves a new flash ride

For this generation, instant gratification isn't fast enough.

There’s just so much more better things coming out for the price of a non heavily discounted nsx I am sorry to say. The price doesn’t fetch the premium. That’s why there were only a handful of actual owners here before steep discounts.
‘For example, just looked at a 2018 M5. 4 doors, a real trunk,600 hp and 0-60 in 3.2 though actually tested at 2.8 seconds with a faster 1/4 mile than the Nsx at 10.5 seconds.

The Update

No one is happy about the 5 car sales month.
There is push back against more incentives.
Although the $30k is gone there may be a few straggler opportunities out there (i.e. some folks may still have a green light to use their expired incentive).
Green is gone for next year and orange is coming (Andaro is unknown).
Some new factory installed features to come but no details.
Expect an additional interior color.
No tire changes, no targa, no vert, no nose lift.
There is one guy who brings a friend to the demos in the desert and each time the friend buys, so this guy keeps getting invited back.
The demos such as this are expected to happen in other locations.
No more dealer demo cars, they still do not want a car on the show room floors.
6 total cars have been rebuilt at the Ohio facility, including the one Honda bought at auction to practice on.
2 low mileage cars died and there was metal found in the oil pans. The heads were replaced by the dealership techs.
The Specialist is going to NJ to do some data collection on a car with 10,000 track miles and may have dipped performance.

It may have been only 4 sales in April. Technicality... Mine got hung up closing in March due to Good Friday and the banking holiday. No wires till the next week so it dragged out to April. Either way 4 or 5 is dismal.

Tell us more...

My contact did not get a rundown of what failed.

The cars were random builds in the 2017 MY, each only had a few hundred miles on them when they failed.

The local dealership techs did the engine work with instructions coming by phone from some one at Honda.

wouldn't metal in the oil typically be from a spun bearing ?

many things are faster than the NSX, but those two cars aren't really comparable...

so no new anything in other words?

they're repeating the exact same formula as the first generation NSX, which at the time was selling a lot better than this one...

I just report the info

I am not saying they have a winning hand

Remember, I am president of the get rid of Turd club, so we can get some one who understands customers in charge of the program

15 new ones sold in May 2018 in the US.

Triple last month but still terrible.

I believe a good chunk of those sold were 17s as the inventory of 17s on Cars.com has shrunk (27 total new ones, 14 are 18s and 13 are 17s). I believe last month the inventory level was similar but only about 8 were 18s.

are dealers offering incentives for unsold 17's.? I see some lightly used 2-3k mile examples listing for 135-140....

I believe I mentioned after a recent conversation with the Specialist that there may be a few "cars worth of incentives" available and perhaps that helped move a few cars but that is unsubstantiated.

Or you can look at it as the car is super limited like some other exotics and the car will hold it's value in the future once more people see how great it is. I'm more of an optimist as you can tell. :)

was thinking about this recently.. any rough guesses on how long are owners keeping their NSXs before selling?

June 2018 US Sales

NSX 6
Ford GT 11
Audi R8 61
MB AMG-GT 154

Another bummer month
bummer indeed

It seems like the folks who buy the latest and greatest may already be onto other cars.

For those of us who are Honda heads, I expect the cars to stay in the same garage a long time.

As of today there are 32 new ones on cars.com, 21 of the 32 are 18s so we have very few new 17s waiting for homes.

I saw 22 used 17s. Some have under 1000 miles. The example I would point to is, the Boston area Ferrari dealer has one with 318 miles for $142,500.

We have had ours for roughly a few months now and have no intentions of letting it go!

Such a perfect car in many ways.....and we had a few other exotics in the garage prior and all of them didn't have long stays!

Only the McLaren 720s is on the radar but even then it's really not a comparable car at nearly double the price. Acura has a winner in our eyes :)
