The Official 2011 F1 Thread....Now That 2010 is Over

Re: He's rightly mad, but............

Webber has got to be fuming right now.
he should have known they would say that since he had no chance to catch Fred and the rules now say it's OK for team management to run the entire team.

Don't like it either, but that's the new "above board" rules. Now the exhaust rules that change by the hour................... that makes the FIA look pathetic.

Damn you shumaker!!! You ruined my boy 's race, Perez all over nico for the whole damn race, and no pass but loved seeing Sergio showing pace. Comentador: "here is Sergio a driver that didn't like to visit the pits very often" Perez to Ferrari for 2012!!!

On the other hand if Michael hadn't run over Kobi he would of end up probably 4-5, he was fast.

Wondering where Webber would be next year?

As it looks in same car.He was good boy yesterday.:frown:

Sorry for Jenson .I was very surprised about Louis pace especially first 20 laps.

Think back to the start of the race, both cars get away cleanly, and evenly, but after 100m Vettel's car zooms forward while Webber seems to be dragging a chain.

Did Webber fluff the start or make a mistake? Well a little birdy tells me that somehow Webber's KERS button didn't work for the first couple of laps..........

And Webber attacking Vettel in the closing stages, when he knows the rules [which have been a part of motor racing since the dawn of the sport], hmmm.........

Just reading between the lines, what price on Webber being in a Ferrari next year?

Re: Too old

Plenty of other young stuff out there that could fit the bill for years to come and be subservient to Fred.

One of the great mysteries is Webb's continual problem with starts. If there was a mechanical or KERS issue, we would have heard about it.

The little birdy is someone in the know. Apparantly it was tweeted on Red Bulls site?

Horner was not happy at all with webber and said he was going to sit and have a talk with him. the radio feed is delay of course, so he was told to keep the gap way before he started attacking Vettel.

How about this for 2012

Ferrari,
Alonso/Perez

Mclaren,
Hamilton/Button

Redbull,
Vettel/Rosberg

Mercedez,
Schumacher/Kobayashi

Massa and webber? I dont know.

Re: Oh good, some sabotage.............

theory for the gristmill. Yes, it's about time !!

All very plausible. Hmmmm no mention of sabotage in the Paddocktalk BS. That's where it would be. Can't wait for Webber to leave RB and write his book.

As for the team orders..........it's no big deal either way. The overall points/championship thing is done, stick a fork in it. So why not, for team image, let Webber go by, reminding Vettel not to do anything stupid? And it's just possible that Webber may ultimately need a couple extra points to beat Fred in the championship. Apparently they don't trust Vettel not to do something stupid????

Now, back to the sabotage theories.

I agree whit Sadlerau something smell bad.I understand team orders but let faster driver win(in case of last year Ferrari team order it was obviously that Fernando was faster than Felippe)but now between RB cars??
Think that this year winner of championship we know allready, but Horner still has a fear and want to be shore.

Why are people linking Perez with Ferrari?

Ferrari started it, probably the mountain of money that telmex could bring on board too..

Perez played it cool and said that it was too early to contemplate, because he is just focusing on his rookie season at the moment. Which means he would sign with the F team in a sec.... ;)

Perez to test Ferrari's 2009 car in September 13 Jul 2011

Sauber driver Sergio Perez, who is also a member of the Ferrari Driver Academy (FDA), is to get the chance to test the Italian team’s 2009 car. Perez will be in action alongside fellow FDA recruit Jules Bianchi in September.

“We will be back on track in September, at Mugello or Fiorano,” Luca Baldisserri, director of the FDA, explained in an interview with Ferrari’s official website. “It will be a very interesting test, because we will be putting Bianchi and Perez up against one another. I think they will both be very motivated and for us it will be the perfect opportunity to assess both drivers.”

Perez is midway through his debut season of Formula One racing with Sauber. The Mexican has scored eight world championship points in his Ferrari-engined C30, but missed the Monaco and Canadian rounds after a heavy accident during qualifying in Monte Carlo. His seventh-place finish at last weekend’s British event is his best result to date.

Re: Monkeys with typewriters.

Kimi and Vettel............sounds good.

A gazillion people out there with Iphones that get to broadcast whatever pops into their heads.

But hey, anything's possible.

Vettel qualifies 3rd. The forecast calls for rain so did he go with a wet setup? With Webber on the pole, SV will be right behind him at the starting line. Based on typical starting line performance, Webber will bog down at the start and Vettel will run into him.

I might have to get up at 0430 to watch it live.

Well, one can only hope but these guys seem to be quick enough to drive around the bogger. So Seb will likely be racing the Red cars to the 1st corner. And old Web will be fighting the same old sabotage (or is it just old age?) that he always has. I'll bet a 10 yr. old could whip his ass in most video games. Oh wait, that's nothing to be ashamed of.

Unless it's perfectly dry for the entire race I choose Lewis.

^ These two guys must be smart!

Vettel's wet setup must have been pretty good, he set the 3rd fastest lap of the race  Actually he was asked to change his brake balance mid way through the race which was costing him time. Apparently the engineer's weren't happy with the temperatures they were seeing. Later in the race the temps came down and he was given the all clear to get the brake balance back to optimum, which allowed him to chase down Massa. I believe Webber had the same issue for a while, which may account for his slow pace mid race?

Great race overall, even thougth the DRS wasn't that effective for the front runners. Webber's attempt at passing Hamilton after the second round of stops may have worked if he was trying to pass somenone like Button, but Hamilton was NEVER going to give Webber room. Hope he repays the compliment one day

Alonso really was asleep on the next lap! Doh.

And it is interesting how Webber's revs dropped just as the red lights went out at the start of the race. How automatic are the F1 launches nowdays? Did Webber lift the revs too early, and the computer backed them down as a safety measure just as the lights changed?

Roll on Hungary................
