The Official 2011 F1 Thread....Now That 2010 is Over

Re: Whoa cowboy............boring you say?

dead boring

What are you talking about? The race for 2nd is red hot. Or do you agree with me that Fred's gonna do it? If so, why are you so sure?

And hey, I'm on pins and needles to see which of the 3 new teams is going to score a point. That's some high drama right there. I don't care who you are.

Re: Yeah, it's been over for awhile

I've been cogitatin' on who's gonna be 2nd. Smart (my :biggrin:) money says it's gonna be Fred now, because;

1. he makes the fewest mistakes and the Red Cars have the pace now.
2. Hamo and crew have shot themselves in the foot too many times.
3. And someone has apparently bought off Butt's crew.
4. And since Webb hasn't learned how to start by now, not much chance he'll learn this season.

Anyone wanna put up a $20 on someone besides Fred?

Damn can I still get in on this? I won the bet with Ted last year, gotta make it two in a row.

LOL

well you do have a point if you put that way.

It's just a appointment compared the previous years starting from the year Alonso won his first Championship. Even the Brawn year was awesome because it was unexpected.

And yeah sure I hope Alonso (if that's who you refer to by Fred) will win 2nd place. I'm an Alonso fan. I'm not a die hard fan. I like everyone who can drive. But out of all the drivers out there now, Alonso is my favorite.

Car and Driver : 2011 Ferrari 458 Italia vs. 2012 McLaren MP4-12C, 2011 Porsche 911 GT2 RS - Comparison Tests

The 12C is a car of total coordination. The superior visibility grants the driver greater confidence, and the suspension compliance allows for full use of the brakes and engine. Add in linear power delivery, a smooth brake pedal, and predictable steering, and you have a vehicle that, however monstrously powerful, feels like an extension of yourself. Everything in the McLaren works exactly as expected, allowing you to adjust your speed in small increments and, ultimately, get from point A to point B quicker than in the two other cars.
That happens to be exactly how I like my sports cars tuned too. The NSX was tuned by just one WDC. Now the MP4-12C is tuned by two WDCs.

no derailments of the F1 thread allowed:wink:

I don't know if you guys are aware of this, but I thought I might post it anyway

on planetf1 on the right-hand corner, there is a vote on who's the best between Vettel, Hamilton, and Alonso.

http://planetf1.com/

as of this post, Alonso alone has 50% of 1727 votes. So Alonso alone has as many votes as Hamilton, and Vettel combined.

I'm out for a week so I'm sorry in advance if I don't reply

OK Jack, you're on, but you gotta say who you're picking instead of Fred; you gotta give me some opportunity for bragging rights.

My wife did the same thing in my car at road atlanta, cursed me out and almost blew chunks.

Gonna put my money where my mouth is and say Jenson Button comes in second. JB's got the momentum and McLaren is really making up some ground to RB on race days.

Re: JB????? Bold, I like it.

OK, duly noted. This will be interesting.

Seriously? Rebel pay you $20 to say that?

lol you know from our prior discussions I'm a huge Button fan. Rumor is Ferrari is focusing on their 2012 car now, it's gonna be very difficult for Alonso to come in 2nd without any further 2011 development.

For the love of his uncle's driving, I really want Bruno to shine. The reality ofcourse, may be quite different. He will no longer be looking forward to just finishing a race, which is good, but, then he has to deal with the likes of Ko bayashi. Nick may not be the fastest guy on the grid, however he is immensely talented. The Lotus/Renault has not always been a reliable and quick car. In this arena, where car determines the win as much as the driver, very few can race a bad car at the front of the grid. I wish Bruno all the best. I also hope that Robert gets well and starts racing again, soon.
