Re: EQUALLY Dangerous?

I have been waiting for that line for some time now. Glad you caught the pun  but it is really more of a guideline .....

Back on topic:

I hate this 3 week long break.

Re: EQUALLY Dangerous?

I respectfully decline to acquiesce to your reasoning or rationalization regarding "both would have been safe" or "it's racing."

Hrant, let these guys do the talking.

Disclaimer: nothing serious here folks. Chill out and enjoy humor for it's own sake. OK? use the fire extinguisher and not the flame thrower; that goes for all of us...............now how 'bout we just kick back for another coupla weeks, eh?

Looking forwad to the Spa weekend. It's a hp/aero track so I'm sure Red Bull will do well. Hopefully, Macca and Caterpillars will do better than everyone expects.

Re: Belgien GP

Was Button driving slow on purpose just to test Vettel's weak passing ability?

Now we know the answer: Vettel has trouble passing.

Vettel is a f*ckin bitch. He has no clue how to pass his competitors safely. I'm soooo pissed right now.

Great race for Hamilton, deserved win.Good race at all, Spa all way's interesting.Bad luck for Alonso from second lap.Kubica and Webber good race.Batton's race today ruined by Vettel he deserved bigger punishment.

Finally something I can agree upon with you.

I also think Alonso got what he deserved. I am officially going to begin the "Vettel and Alonso are pricks and deserve all the misfortune that come their way" fan club.

As founder and CEO, I will be looking for positions to fill, applications will be accepted via PM.

All jokes aside, what a great race. If Button hadn't been screwed by Vettel, I think he would have pitted the lap that Hamilton didn't (where he went into the gravel @ turn 8), put on inters or full wets and passed Hamilton for the lead the very next lap. One can dream...

I thought the penalty for Vettel was very much deserved. You don't take a competitor out w/o some sort of repercussion.

All in all though, another great race at Spa. I wish F1 would just alternate every race b/t Suzuka, Canada, and Spa.

Although not a great race to watch, I'd add Monaco, Singapore & Abu Dhabi.

Re: Vettel..........hmmmmmmm

Matchett and Hobbs both thought it was a racing incident, which by definition, means that no one is directly to blame to the extent a penalty is warranted. In his defense, those were difficult conditions and how he lost it and took out JB looked pretty strange. (I thought he was saving those moves for his teammate........:biggrin:JK).

Without reviewing it again in slow mo, etc. my reaction is that the drive through was fair because he, as the passing driver, "has the obligation to make the pass safely." I forget exactly what Will said, but I generally agree and think there should be some penalty when a fellow innocent competitor gets taken out, and that some fair play retribution by the stewards is appropriate.

I agree that he has not shown the maturity of a first class driver, but I don't chaulk this f**k up as indicative of that.

Now, I'll watch the Speed Report and Despain and hear some different opinions. Maybe I'll change my mind.

Lots of action and some different drivers in the points and some real skills being displayed.

Re: No new insight..........

at least that I heard. But, I was dickin' around with EM and other distractions so I wasn't hanging on every word. But he did have Will on and if he said anything it was only in passing and didn't beat up the subject much.

I see comments elsewhere that the drive thru was not harsh enough. Course there's plenty of haters out there who would prolly like to see him sat down for a race too, so.............nothing really new on the severity of the penalty.

Well, no new insight except........You can see Seb's in-car video on Youtube that shows the left front wing flex up dramatically just before he loses it. Quite possibly a wing failure or something wierd that would have lost downforce on the left and spun him right into JB? We'll see if that little tidbit gets legs.

It has been discussed on other forums that the Red Bull suffers from sudden loss of front downforce when travelling too close behind, as witnessed by Webber's apparent brain fade in Australia. The drop in downforce means the tires loose grip, presto your going too fast at that point! It wasn't helped by the fact he was veering sharply to jink around Button.

Hamilton was SOO lucky with his off towards the end of the race. Probably had a coat of paint from the fence on his front tyre

Webber was desperately un-lucky to have the clutch glitch, which if you put down to mechanical woes, means he was the only one of the front runners who had a clean sheet on the day. But then I am biased

Here's the Austin F1 track elevation map. I'm loving the rise to the first turn and the variances along the main straight.

This Tilke track actually looks good!
