New 2004 nsx build

Hey I live in clearwater and have a 2005 if you want to compares wiring etc so you know what you need.
Also curious to know what you paid if you don't mind me asking.
My only concern would be the wiring harness as it will be 2000 to 2005 only since the fire melted the gas vapor cylinder area etc it is going to be hard to get the car running without the check engine light on.... unless you order those parts from the dealership or erz.....
 
Yeah I am gonna leave the smog device, I was just messing around.

when the engine is out I am gonna degrease the shit out-of the engine bay. tow it to the paint shop and have them do a respray of the bay, and the trunk closest to the engine. and the outside wheel well on both side so they look the same color wise.

I have to go buy an engine lift sometime this week. thats why I have not dropped the engine yet. I would have already dropped it 4 days ago.

I think all this work is time consuming but easy work. I have always been a car guy. TB/WP etc. etc is easy to me.

sometimes I wish I went to school for Cars instead of Computers.

I am bored with being a Computer Consultant, the same shit everyday.

your doing well for a computer consultant! Plus doing the work first hand like you are doing now is more rewarding and you learn alot.
 
update. sorry its going slow I am waiting on my stupid Engine Hoist.

eveything is ready to drop. axle's removed. a/c compressor hanging by a wire. etc. etc.

once its dropped will then hoist the engine onto the engine stand. and the work will begin. so far its been fairly easy the Service Manual has lots of steps to get the engine out but since most of the plastics were melted away it has saved me tons of steps. LOL

once the sub frame is back on minus the engine the car will be sent to the shop for paint. ( chassis, engine bay, rear trunk wall )

now I am wondering since the heat of the fire was directed to the driver rear wheel would that RIM be bad? or warped? I might just buy another rim. it looks mint though

another question can I use a 2000 wire harness on this car since air injection started in 2000?
another prime member has one from a 2000 and I am sure it will fit on an 2004? just wondering

I would just throw a straight edge on the wheel to see if it's warped.
 
on the wire harness go to an online acura parts store and check the part numbers for the piece for 2004 and 2000. if the part number is the same they are the same. if not it was revised or changed
 
thanks I will need that to. the original cap was melted to the Piping.

it will not come off. the tubes are fine but might as well get a new one.

WOW - you surely have one major league strong constitution Shawn - my hat is off to you sir! I can't believe you took this on - although it realy doesn't appear to have frame damage from the photos. It must have gotten pretty hot though. That tire was definitely heated up on that side.

Man - it is amazing but if you get this car all put back together and fixed up like new - I'd keep it. You won't want to sell it. You'll want to drive the poo out of it!

I wish you all the best of luck man - that is an awesome undertaking and you have nerves of steel to go after it! The interior is nice - I wouldn't mess with it at all - unless there is something you have to get to - otherwise nothing better than the way they put it together at the factory! I'm going to be watching for all your updates - this is really cool!!!! If you pull this off - YOU REALLY WILL BE THE MAN!

I've been working too much and not on Prime since the original post. Computer stuff. You know. I'm amazed at your progress! I really want to see this baby one of these days. The untouched parts look absolutely pristine. I bet this will be gorgeous when you are done. Thinking of any mods?

yes since I was like 4 years old I would take everything apart and put it back together. when I look at something I see numbers pop out. its weird.

the only way I can describe it is there was this tv show called " Prison Break " very popular show. well the main character Micheal had the exact same thing I have. when he would look at something his brain would see graphs, numbers and diagrams.

where a normal person would see a (book) for example he would see
eight 90degree angles pop out,bottom/top, the lenth/width of the book about how much it weighs, etc.

that me. its just hard to explain.

but I am a totally normal person. weird.

if you tell me a word, then tell me to find it in an HTML File and you scroll real fast to the bottom of the page I can see the word when it scrolls by.
and I say stop and I point to the word.

still waiting on the engine hoist. but took one of the valve covers off to take a look see and it looked perfect, even the timing belt looked good. I will replace the timing belt and waterpump once the whole thing is out though.

did you see the air intake filter was way up to get a better " RAM AIR "

effect. was only 50 bucks a year for PIP insurance
