Infineon High Performance Driving School

I just wanted to add that due to teh very generous sponsorship of Marin Acura and Neillo Acura, that we have been able to keep the price as low as we have. We went to them to ask for help in covering the costs associated with bringing in as many instructors as we will need for this driving school and they willingly put up finding.

So please, let them know how much you appreciate their suport. If you are in the market for a new or used Acura, call them, thank them for the support and give them a chance to win your business.

Thanks,
Tom Kohrs

So far the registration is going much slower than expected given the commitments above and how quick this event will fill up especially after preference is given to NSXers ...... As of 5:00 AM today, only 10 have registered

Registration is still slow? I'm starting to think the NSX guys are all talk ;)

Looks like we will have a SC big battle. With Kip Olson (Shad's test mule) heading head to head battle with Mark/Trevor A (Realtime built SC). Who wants to miss this? Comptech street legal rocket against race prepared NSX.

I'm shooting to get Tom's car ready as well. Hopefully we can bring a NA car that will be able to compete with those monstrous HP cars.

Re: Now you're talkin'

Okay, I'm about ready to register. However, I have a few questions.

1. I assume that helmets will be required at this event. What certifications, Snell, ???

2. I've been told that I will need at least a one inch clearance between the top of the helmet and the roof lining. Is this also true for the instructor in the passenger seat?

3. How easy are the OEM seat cushions to remove and reinstall without damaging them or messing up the integrity of the seats?

4. What can I use to temporarily replace the seat cushions (towels, Daliracing cushions, ???).

I figure I better ask these questions now instead of waiting to the last minute. I'm sure others would like to know too.

thx...

EDIT:

After reading TrackMasters checklist http://www.trackmasters-racing.com/html/techform.html, here's what I found:

Helmets
Helmets must be Snell SA95, M95, K98, SA2000, or M2000 rated.
Helmets must also be free of cracks and other visible damage.

Seats and Seat Belts
Factory style 3-point seat belts in good working condition.
Seats properly bolted to floor of vehicle.
Aftermarket competition seat belts properly installed.

NOTE: I couldn't find any mention of head clearance.

The NSXCA Sacramento Chapter has a SNELL 95 loaner helmet. While we have head covers as well, we recommend you buy your own if you are too particular re who wore it before you.

As to clearance, I wouldn't worry too much since as a novice you be on a tight leash  Having said that, unless you have a long torso, most push the seat forward and recline the back to give them enough head room though taller drivers do tend to touch the top especially on a T.

Taking the bottom cushion is not a biggy but time consuming as you have to take the seat off ....... But once you remove the cushion, you will be literally sitting on the floor with at least 2" more headroom. See result in here:

http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showpost.php?p=603112&postcount=57

The seating sensation is quite different. A towel or some foam cushion will make your seating more comfortable during track - but even without it you would be fine with the 25 minute sessions though if you are on the skinny/bony side, you might feel somewhat sore.

QUOTE=Andrie Hartanto: Registration is still slow? I'm starting to think the NSX guys are all talk ;)

I agree, especially when commitments were based on such show of interest  Doug just informed me that as of this morning only 12 NSXers have registered and the event is already half full with 43 registered

Seven more days are left before TrackMasters decides to close the registration preference to NSXers - especially novices given the initial numbers. Doug spent hours figuring how best to accommodate such numbers, the organizational issues associated with securing more instructors, etc. At this rate, if he chooses to close the registration to NSX novices sooner and offer the balance of spots to the F/P cars, or intermediate and advanced drivers, frankly I wouldn't blame him but encourage him to do so as well.

If this lukewarm interest continues, we may also decide to limit the club's refund of $25 to those NSXCA members in good standing who registered by May 27 rather than to continue the offer to all those who register within the first 30 days from opening the registration - as was initially posted. The whole idea was to jump start the registration with an incentive for an NSX focused/tour de force track event, and give TrackMasters a heads up of how best to organize the event based on our club's/NSX community needs.

Com'n NSX'rs.............don't you all want to see what your NSX can do.......we all buy performance mods for what? for bragging rights. .but don't use them...or the fact that you own a hand built street/track car and NOT using on the track a few times is a shame. :frown:

For those worried about your NSX being safe… ..I have only done this a few times…but I now for a fact there were many, many more expensive sports cars with me on those track days.

This is all for fun…and actually is safer going faster then on the streets……..at least everyone is driving the same direction

Plus you may get a chance to drive with an advance driver....like Kip, Andrie, Mark, Steve.........and so, so, so many others that truly use NSX on track..

you will be surprised how well your NSX will do...and you can check off one more thing off the....gotta do before I die list.... if you have one...pretend you are a race car driver  yoru kids will be proud and your wife will want to make sure your life insurance is maxed and paid.

then after we can vote who sucked the most

I think it's a different issue

For some time now, I have been compiling a list of the shameless posers who commit with "me too syndrome" on such posts, group buys and functions/activities and then disappear with no courtesy posts - even in private - when they decide to back out for whatever reason as we get nearer to the moula :frown:

Stay tuned; I will have the last laugh when I plaster their names as untrustworthy deadbeat posers

I would register now but,

I am trying to find out what time everything starts! I can't get to the track until 10:00 or 10:30 if that is not too late...I'd register yesterday!!

does anyone know:confused:

it may start around 7-8:30 am. with briefing first on rules, flags and times per group. Then ends later day 4:30-5pm depending on track closure.

Assuming the track opens at 8:30 am, this means most likely the first novice session would start at about 9:30 am.

Novices will have about 1 hour of classroom session prior to getting on the track, and this after driver's meeting - and time permitting a few low speed laps to.

You will definitely miss the first novice session. But more importantly, check with Doug Gale if he will allow you to get on the track as a novice without attending the mandatory driver's meeting and the mandatory classroom.

Ok you asked for it!!,

AS some of you may know I have 2 NSX's, a 2004 stock and a 1992 twin turbo track only car. And the point is I DRIVE MY CARS, 4 of us went on a 350 mile drive of twisteys and about 8 hrs long yesterday (was everyone else in the garage thinking it would rain?) We did't get a drop!

All everyone does is talk about how fast there car is and how nice there wheels and other crap is, well no one gives a shit. If all you want to do is talk and say nothing I am surprised any one listens let alone answers you!!!!
If you need help thats different.

If you guys don't know the NSX was made for a road coarse thats why everyone built is tested on one at the factory, It is not made for a 1/4 mile car or most of all to sit in your GARAGE !!

People work hard at putting on these events and I told Doug @ trackmasters that he should not look at this prime list as he would be LUCKY if 20 people sign up as they can't commit to anything even when they say they will on a list in front of everybody. And look 12 people! You have a fey days to prove me wrong.

For those of you who have come through you are the Man (or woman), Remember adding you name to a list is a commitment just like winning a bid on E-Bay you are a flake if you back out and leave this club and trackmasters holding ther dicks. If your not going you should PAY anyway if you singed up!

If you singed the list and don"t come (unless you have a doctors note excluding you) you should SELL your car and but a YUGO and spam up there lists.

This was a little harsh but long overdue !!

See You There

Steve

okay...does anyone have a contact for Doug Gale or can I just attend as an observer and ride with someone on the track?

It's not so important for me to drive on the track(but it would be great fun:biggrin:), as attend the event. I haven't been able to attend any NSX events:frown:
