How 'bout that stock market?

Ryan i'm not trading a "system" per se. Same entries i've always traded, i've just stopped using MA's to establish a trend and relaxed my stop management. And that has completly supercharged my results. This has made my entries more responsive than ever to actual price action movements. I can play reversals now and get in on more trades with more confidence. Its all good :) Up 160/contract so far today. We'll see what the next two hours have in store for me.

I don't know anything about how you are trading but what is your general feeling of the market right now? I feel like it is ready to explode to the upside. Is that where you are at?

Yea I would agree steve, it certainly has that feeling to it and at these levels its very very possible.

The price action is kind of listless chop today thus far except for a big institutional slam upwards but the old addage goes "never short a dull market". That certainly applies today.

I was able to uncover my appl this morning when it sold off and covered it again sucking out 1.75 a share for my pocket while I wait for October expiration. SWEET!!!

First day is done. I end trading at 1:50 CST everyday. After extensive backtesting i've found that its statistically reliable that after that time period i'm net negative on my profits. Most days chop into the close with lots of headfakes and shakeouts. I also just trade 9:00 am CST to 10:30 CST in the mornings, past that i also found during the lunch hour i lost money. So much of my increase in profitability has simply been by trading less.

Anyway, traded the signals perfectly today, thats all i wanted to do. Net on the day was 160.00. On to tomorrow!

Just think what you could do with 100K. :)

Ya, we got lucky....weather was overcast on Sat, but no rain. Sunday was awesome. Tried wakeboarding for the first time. Didn't get up once.

Good old Nasdaq :) I used to have something that was great with time, it was right about 75% of the time as far as time goes and time is as big as price. 10:30 and 2:30 are the big times, 11:30 - 12:30 is chop most of the time. Think about this, people that trade are just like you and I, they goto work and then lunch time they go eat come back and at 2:30 they have to get liquid or close out the trades so they can go home. If you want to talk to the best trader I have ever seen goto avidtrader and sign up for the free chat, look for Tepid2 he is the master of scalping and taught me about 6 years ago, we do different things now he loves the scalp I hate it but used it to make money to trade the longer times. Chat with him if you want he is oldschool and has been trading his whole life 30+ years. And no he does not sell anything but if you have anything to help / show him he will help you out.

Pretty good day and the tension is building. I thought for sure the markets would rocket to the upside but the bears kept a lid on it. The spring needs to coil up a bit more I guess. If LEH is at 30 tomorrow I will be pissed.

Up is nice. I added $8,270, but it was a slow day for me; it's been like this for two weeks.

You still holding ETFC? I am.

Nope I sold e trade on friday. Tomorrow should be a big trading day like today.

Up is nice especially when I thought I was going to eat it with LEH.

Yep, LEH was looking scary. Glad you made your money back.

In looking at the chart, however, it seems to me LEH still has some room to move up. Provided the market remains positive, I wouldn't be surprised to see LEH bouncing up to $30+ in the near-term.

Yeah I am thinking I will be able to hop back in at a lower price or maybe even short it while it falls and cover then go long.

What are you trading off of? Post up a chart if you don't mind. You can see a few of mine on here and I will throw up 1-2 more later on tomorrow. Just has been dead as of late.

Only made 18 points this time before my stop hit. Still, 18 points is 18 points. It's not -20.

Edit: (10:20pm) Short again for 'hopefully' 20-30 points tonight (1.5540). Only risking $2-3/point as I sort this whole thing out.
Edit: (11:15pm) That was a quick 25 points. I'll continue scalping until I lose my mind.

The chart is 1 Hr.

There is going to be a move forward before it pulls back again. Don't jinx me I haven't reset my shorts yet.

Wouldn't be surprised if that happened, but prob not here/today unless some particularly good news comes out. If you're looking for the big pop, it will probably be for a few days when the S&P retests the March lows. Lots of buyers waiting for that.
