Help me decide; Trade my 94 RX7 for NSX?

Why you guys call it "FD" so much? why not RX-7? ... we don't say, "my C30 this" my "C32 that" ... lol ...

Because there is a HUGE difference between the FD and other RX7s. With the NSX, it's just little things here and there. Not a matter of generations.

Yes, I thought about it. But, that's as far as I went. I guess you could call me a purist... . I've spent 13 years in a FD, For me, it's time to move on.

Now, I just need to find a buyer for mine. Hopefully soon, there is a NSX on here for sale that I'd like to jump on !

I hear you on that.

The NSX move was ONLY painful since the power was linear and had an anemic low end grunt ( not that the top end was even near my 430rwhp FD).

The only issue that I have with the LSx FD is that it's a front engine mount instead of a front-mid engine mount.

These conversions don't handle and turn as nice as the original setup.

I think the FD (at least around the SF Bay Area) is more rare than than NSX. At least a running and well cared for FD.

 Sooo not touching this ..lol

Damn, that's one of the best 7's i've seen....not heavily modded, very tasteful. I would have a hard time letting go of that...

I've seen more FDs, last gen Supras, ferraris, lambos, maseratis, Astons, Teslas, GTR, vipers, than I've seen NSXs around the bay.

I just sold my 05 CTS-V and bought a 91 NSX to drive while i'm saving money for my 2010 CTS-V. (selling the NSX to my brother) But I'm also thinking of getting an FD with a LS6 instead and push the new V back a year. I always loved the way the FDs look.

perhaps i go to too many NSX meets and have 3 buddies that go to coffee shops with me that have NSXs.

The last time I saw a FD is when I went to a RX7/8 meet a couple of weeks ago. And even with the meets they hardly show up.

Damn , I think more people (On here) have told me to keep the 7 over the NSX. What gives?

Look at it this way; there are some that like the FD that's who's coming out of the woodwork here - not the guys that are dyed in the wool NSX lovers. Most on here look at threads like this and roll their eyes just a bit - don't you see. We all love the NSX - well most of us and some that own the NSX just think it's underpowered, needs an SC, gotta mod this, gotta mod that- you don't have to do any of that to enjoy one of the greatest sports cars ever developed and sold to the general public. It's not a finiky anything - doesn't need seals or blow up or have problems with the engine all the time - has no achilles heel like some older cars do (name an old Porsche for example and it will have some achilles heel - or an FD)

The NSX is a great car - you will love it if you like small zippy sports cars that sound awesome. I do not have any go fast mods on mine but a set of Comptech headers - and some chip - no big deal- it's plenty fast for me but I'm older and I've had other cars and some fast and some not so fast - the NSX is just about a perfect blend if you like 2 seater sports cars! Don't think you'll regret buying one but - big thing for you in your state of indecision is - GET OUT AND FIND ONE TO DRIVE. You'll answer your own questions then.

Basically it goes like this - we cannot describe a feeling for you, acceleration for you, we don't know what you are looking for - only you can say, "yeah, this car feels good to me" - right. The interest with this thread basically is waining cause you need to go out and drive one and then get back to us. That's the best anyone can tell you and I'm not being mean or flippent - it's just simple - if you are undecided then the only way you will be able to decide is by getting in one and driving it and feeling it. Good luck! Hope you are able to do that soon.

I say FD, because I want people to know I have the only cool generation RX7.
oh no, he didn't...!

Maybe the cars are in the shop???
LOL

I must say my N/A FC lasted well into 130k miles and was purring till the day I sold it. I must have had apex seals made out of God's fingernails or something.

Deposit received for the 7.... and sent off a deposit for a NSX

What a glorius day it is! Fwiw I had a built FD with my NSX and I got rid of it. Just didn't have the same connection to it as I do the NSX.

Nice! Do you recommend ebay as a good place to sell FDs? I've had a saved search for FDs on ebay and it seems very few get relisted. Did you get the price you wanted?

It's worked out well for me, I've sold 3 rx7's on there. First one sold for 27.5. This last one I let go for cheap because I was in a rush to put down a deposit on the NSX.
