I have three committed, I like to have two more, three if possible.

I just got the word from Japan too the cost is also going up by 10000 yen because of increase cost in materials; therefore, any thing after the GB will have to deal with the increase in price.

Questions were raised regarding other seller (s), I can not say much other than he was not authorized to sell this product as promised by the factory. I'll leave it at that. There are more information but I can't disclose them publicly; therefore, any one who ordered it from him, good luck to you. Please don't PM me later when you run into issues. I'm hands off on this one. Also the situation with our beloved GT-ROM.

There is a huge mess in Japan right now between the factories, venders, and law enforcement authorities. Simply put, some one is stealing some thing from some body and the mess should be over soon.

You will find the JDM NSX aftermarket manufactures refused to R&D new products because they are devastated by the counterfeit issues here in the US, Taiwan, and China, and they are currently seeking legal consul to see if any actions can be taken.

Keeping my fingers crossed, I hope the storm will go away soon.

From the one video I heard, I couldn't tell what she sounds like at WOT. How close is it to the 5.1?
Please allow me to be a smart ass

Have you ever heard of any 5.1 on any video with that kind of sound?

This exhaust was intended to replace the 5.1 in Japan, but 5.1 is pertty no more, so can't really call it the 5.2.

Don't mind you being a smart ass. :)

Just looking for the sound at WOT. I'm looking for that F1 type sound. The 5.1 is the closest I've heard to my 355.

If the Bel is even close, it may be for me. Otherwise, I'll just wait.

Steve

Steve, go to Youtube and look under JGTC NSX, compare the two sound. The only thing JGTC has over my exhaust is even higher pitch due to the extra 3000 rpm. Otherwise, they have basically the same sound.

Just to let you know. The 5.1 is no more.

The key is to keep the sound natural. The true F1 sound is really impossible to produce because of the RPM range plus the small cylinder size on the race engine.

F355 is pertty sweet!!!

A PM was sent today to those who were invited to the private GB. This is important because I may pull the plug on the exhaust and it will not be produced. Any more interested party please contact me, I need to send the fund to Japan by mid December.

As of today, 89 yen: 1 USD sigh. 7 yen per dollar less than just two weeks ago.

For what it's worth, finally did a dyno, and the result is rather remarkable.
VancePwrDec08.JPG

Since my last dyno was with GT-One v.2.0 from a Dynojetc, I got 295 out of it, this one had the same figures on a Dynopack.

Therefore, the answer to some of the question is yes, it is the most free flow high pitch exhaust out there. Bigger piping with smoother bends are the keys:wink:

If the word on the street is true, Dynopack dyno more conservative, this exhaust perform either same or better than the GT-One v2.0, which I considered as one of the most free flow exhaust for the NSX, Period!!!

Vance, I just have to say that hearing your exhaust again on dyno day reminded me of just how great your exhaust sounds. Soooo smooth. I used to be concerned about all that extra piping, but I guess the changes that were made not only made the exhaust sound so great, but it's apparent that it's helped with the flow. Congrats on your numbers!

Henry, it was nice talking to you in person. I'm trying sort out the issues right now with Japan to see what really went on. Hopefully we can sort out the problem by mid January. As you know, since you're GT-One dealer for a while, the "dadadada" sound during low RPM was minimized but not eliminated. Well, the video will give you the answer.

As for the sound clip, here it is.

hey Vance any word on when they will make it a direct bolt on for 99's and alike?

thanks
Quy

Can't do it until we get a batch of five out. I had three committed but one was removed off the list because he was the last of the original GT-One 5.1 buyer, and We got it for him.

It's been a while since I was in contact with Japan, I'll e-mail again.

If you want in, and intend to use high flow cats, it will bolt right now.

Vance, thanks for the clip and it's nice talking to you too. I'll ship the front lip tomorrow. Good luck with the exhausts.

Quy,

Hi, Sorry Vance for posting this info in your thread. I hope you don't mind! We offer Prospeed Hi-flow cats designed especially for this setup. Here are pics for NSX owners with any header or exhaust combination. You won't need to resort to custom test pipes or deal with troublesome error codes. Our cats have been proven to pass smog and flow well enough for a 500+hp supercharged NSX. We will have sound clips of Vance's car with the Hi-flow cats soon!

I built a jig for this so If you have a NSX with NA1 headers (91-94) and a NA2 (95-02) exhaust system we now have a bolt on solution. Great for NSX owners who have 91-94) style headers and want to upgrade to a GT-ROM exhaust or a BEL CANTO Exhaust system. PM me for details.

Here are some pics!

Vance,

You will get a call from my lawyer soon because I've loss hearing in one ear caused by your BEL CANTO (Aka ORCHESTRA) Exhaust system! lol  It sounded great till I became deaf...

pm'd ya vance, see you tonight.

It was unfortunate we couldn't get five orders last month. Therefore, I was ready to drop this project until the factory out of blue, proposed a new deal to me this morning.

We have changed the the production so we can get this rolling.

So this is the deal. We changed to single tip only (was a $300 option) and now we're going to do for this month only, $2450 shipped via EMS within US, and $2470 to Canada.

I'm not making profit on the first batch of order. Just want to get the muffler out and get some good reviews.

I will adjust the price back to $2650 after the initial orders are submit. I need to get my investment back. I'm in the process of creating a new exhaust system for another vehicle, this is a good faith transaction with the factory. We never anticipated the economy to crash during last three months.

I can take credit cards and Paypal but fees apply.

I have one order in and maybe two coming in.

PM or Call me if you have any question:
Vance @ 714-267-4569

Can't wait for mine, thanks Vance.

Tytus, order and payment received. Thanks!!!

Sicarius82/Long/Mr.Naruto, I know you're under water in a sub right now, hopefully you can get this PM. I'm still waiting for your roommate to drop off the check. Please have him act on this ASAP. I'm supposed to wire money to Japan soon.

Vance,

Thanks again for your efforts. Hope it's a short winter here in the East so I can put 'er on when the salt clears and the weather warms back up. Looking forward to hearing that soprano sing...

Tytus

Tytus and sicarius82, your orders were complete today and will wait till next monday for shipment due to slight delay resulted with my bank withhold the fund for a large check, so I'll wire the money when the funds are cleared next monday (the date they will be shipped).

BUT here are the pictures. I told them since you two are the first grand opening customers, make sure they are extra pretty:biggrin: And they took you guys very seriously and made it really pretty!!! You guys also got the latest resonators!!!

Bel Canto UPDATE!!!

The unit on my car, the only one in existence - NA2/LEV quad tips version will be up for grab in about three to four weeks. The unit has about 100 miles on it. PM me if you want the only quad tips version produced.

I'm replacing my current unit with the THIS baby!!! Inconel prototype version!!!

NA1S-INCONEL-A.jpg

NA1S-INCONEL-B.jpg

The production Inconel and Ti option will be available soon.

For those who have no idea what Inconel is... It is the same material they used to produce the header and exhaust system on F1 cars.

Tytus, your muffler is shipped and tracking number was PM'd to you. You will have it probably by Monday of next week. Long, your muffler will be at my shop for pick up next week.

Peter, your Type R parts will be here as well with Long's muffler.

Thanks

As for those who had problem with GT-ROM, please refer to this thread:

http://www.nsxprime.com/forums/showthread.php?t=117004

I'll see what I can do.

There are currently five more being produced, Two NA2LEV and Three NA1. The factory will take a little break from it and move on to do some thing else until another group of order is in. One NA2 is spoken for and possible on NA1, so if you're looking for one, PM me.

How much is the Inconel exhaust ? what are the weight differences ?

There is no weight difference.

I'm trying to work out the price right now, but the earliest assessment I got from the factory is 50000 yen more more. I'm trying to get it lowered.

I'll let you know soon if you're interested. I know the over price will be lowered than the 5.1 you bought from me.

BTW, do you have two NSXs? I remember you ask me for another 5.1 two months ago.

So if there isn't a weight difference, then what advantages are there for the inconel version vs the stainless steel version?

1. Cool factor/bragging rights. Even though the muffler will be tucked under the car, the metal is much smoother and prettier.

2. Inconel alloy is stronger than Ti. When properly welded together, the muffler will last longer than the life of the car with no corrosion through time. SS will eventually corrode. Also it is stronger against rock. Lots of new oil refineries are now using Inconel for certain part of the plant that transport acid/corrosive type of gas and fluid.

3. Also, a question was asked few months back, why didn't we toast the tips to get that blue color to make the muffler more attractive, our answer was "no" because it's a waste of time and money. SS will turn blue in a short period of time and the color will merge.

Inconel is used in auto racing. F1 and Indy all use inconel for their exhaust manifold and exhausts system. Ti version under stress will crack, Inconel will not. However, this really don’t apply to production cars because they don’t go through the stress like race cars.

If you look at my Fujitsubo header, which has a outrageous price tag of about $3800. They offer the Inconel version for $165,000. Keep in mind that when Fujitsubo did the Inconel version only 14 years ago. Now it is more widely available and some specialty metal shops in Japan have the facility to weld Ti, which is also good for Inconel.
