Re: Bel Canto Soprano Exhaust system Pic and Sound Clip

What are your thoughts as to how it would sound with a CTSC? I'm sure somewhat muffled but would the tone remain? Nice job.

Haven't had one installed into a CTSC car, but I can't imagine that much different.

Headers will make a much greater difference in sound.

There is a thread in Gallery section with all the information. Just a quick run down: Mugen AIS, Fujitsubo header, and test pipes.

Just for the test pipe alone will make it lounder, but the deeper tone came from larger bypass pipes.

You can post the video clips on this thread, no problem:wink:

This is GT-ROM's own video, I believe it is either with high flow cats or test pipes.

Re: Bel Canto Soprano Exhaust system Pic and Sound Clip

Hello guys, Jason/NSXSUPRA informed me tonight that he's been receiving PMs from people who are interested in the Bel Canto but like to hear his opinion, please leave him alone for a little while because he is dealing with a major college mid term and this is a crucial time of the school quarter. Give him some room to breath till the exam will be greatly appreciated.

If you're in S. Cal, just stop by my shop and I can take you for a ride in my car so you have a firm idea of how this thing perform. The first one of the first batch is taken, and I have two more coming out of the factory for NA2 LEV. NA1 guys will have to wait for a little while because we want to get the first batch of NA2 LEV ready. (if you have a after market header such as DC Sports, Taitec, and planning on getting high flow cats, the NA2 LEV will work with the exhaust no problem).

PM me if you have other questions.

I also have been answer PM the last few days, some thing around 50 PMs. Posting is a good way to make all questions and answers transparent.

Thanks

Re: Bel Canto Soprano Exhaust system Pic and Sound Clip

I just heard this exhaust yesterday, and I used to have a gtone v5.1 installed on my nsx (with test pipes)... the Bel Canto sounds great, it has a slightly deeper tone, which I think I prefer, but still gets up high in pitch.

Re: Bel Canto Soprano Exhaust system Pic and Sound Clip

Let me know which day you want to Dyno. I can get you back on the dynojet or on a dynapak on DEC. 6th for the Dyno Day. Let me know!

Haha, I just checked and I didn't know there was a pending thread over this Dyno Day, so Prospeed...you've got a PM.

This thread was much longer. Look like mod removed the unnecessary posts

Vance,

Any new video clips?
I guess people PM Jason just to get his takes on between v5.1 and BCSE. He is the couple few who have heard this 2 in the flesh.

you think dual and quad tip will make that much of a difference in sound?

I doubt it will be that much difference. I heard the single tip and dual tips 5.1 and I didn't hear any difference.

The price is actually quite a bit lower right now because of the exchange rate, let's see where it is at tomorrow.

More information from Japan today. The exhaust at 98Yen:$1USD is about $2400 shipped, less if more than one buyer to save money on wiring and receiving.

At the moment, only NA2/LEV dual tip models are made because it cost more money to "jig" the different pipes. For those with NA1 still desires the exhaust, and if you have an aftermarket header, it can be done if you go custom test pipes or NA2 high flow cats. PM me for detail.

For $2300 I would expect nothing less than a direct match up & easy bolt on. Since you're hung up on Japanese craftsmanship & tooling costs are part of overhead, it would seem you need to alter your business plan. What are the weight change & dyno gains on this thing anyway? On an otherwise stock car.

would the HFC from prospeed work?

The weight is stated on opening thread.

Since you have been asking me lots of questions including "why not knocking it off."

Are you intend on buying one?

The fitment will be just like any good mufflers made in Japan.

I will post the dyno chart in a week or so when it is done. I'm thinking about being part of Prospeed's dyno day so people can see it in person:smile:

No, I just spent $10K on a new Ti & carbon toy. But for your prices I would expect it to bolt right up to whichever year NSX it was purchased for. Not just the newer ones.

Well, the fitment is fine, just look at the pictures of my car.

I was just finishing two days of e-mail exchange with Japan regarding how to make sure this muffler stays genuine from Japan, to prevent knock offs. This muffler has generated enough buzz that I got an e-mail from a guy in Japan who want to put it on his car.

We are also considering create a company to supply exhaust not only for the NSX, but other Japanese cars sold in the US; therefore, we will be register trade mark of the brand during the process.

besides all the talk here about costs, getting it here, direct bolt on, etc, etc....

i found this exhaust to be very unique and pure. the sound is just incredible. took a ride in Vance's car and all i can say is WOW. we even got a thumbs up from an s2k passerbyer. it was fun to be in the car with the windows down while vanced went WOT a few times. one thing i must emphasize is the fact that the bel canto sorpano exhaust is as close to a GT car sound as you can get let alone the design and performance gain. i can't wait for the dyno results and see what's up. i'm definitely considering this exhaust although the holidays are keepin my wallet empty.

Hello Ron, it was nice meeting you in person today. Let me know when you are ready. I'm working on a GB pricing and as I have described to you earlier today, you will be able to get one at cost under the GB.
:smile::wink:

I got too many PMs about what's going on with the exhaust and regarding other sellers. Since some have deem the situation a fiasco, I'm going to make a GB offer privately through PM. There are information on other thread are simply not correct, but I don't want to see any more "fiascos." After investigating the situation, I have came to a conclusion regarding the situation. I cannot disclose that at the moment but will in the near future.

PMs were sent to those who shown early interest and if you're observing the thread and like to know more about it, or like to participate in this GB, this will be the only time this private sale price will be offered, due to certain insider/private reasons, I will explain that to you privately if you wish to know.

You can reach me through PM, e-mail, or call:
e-mail: [email protected]
Phone: 714-267-4569 (I will not pick up my phone before 12:00PM pacific time due to my work/sleep schedule, but you're welcome to leave me a message and I'll call you back when I'm ready).

Thanks
