Bel Canto - Soprano Exhaust system

Vance I was under the impression that this exhaust was made for a UK company and that the piping was changed due to legal reasons???

I know of this as I asked said company about GT-Roms and they were working with Mr.Taita to get this exhaust made up. ( PS I only wanted one for me )

There will be 20 ready by 11/20 and the prices are very good.

Cheers,

AR

At the moment, I have the exclusive rights for the US market. We have not discusses the European market but I don't mind if the my friend want to have a European seller because you are absolutely correct, our contract is to have 20 produced minimum, and if I can't meet that demand, other markets needs to be explored. As for the piping change, I don't understand your question. Perhaps it was a "selling feature" if you know what I mean. I was asked my thoughts on the exhaust and I expressed my idea of the bypass pipe being to small and like to "try" a size up. Also the bend of the pipes should be rounder. Also less weld spots will be more desirable (if you recall my posts in the past, I always felt GT-One headers and exhausts had too many weld spots when compare to my Fujitsubo). Regardless, we're excited about the exhaust and looking forward to have some satisfying owners. The bottom line is, I'm tired of dealing GT-One because they make it way too hard for US buyers to acquire their products, really pointless when they have products but can't export them, and tried to prevent exporting.

Rolled tips like most western exhausts have would be nice, and set it apart from competing japanese exhausts as well.

The raw looking tips are what i dislike the most with my v5.1, i plan to cut them of and add something more refined.

Re: keepin' it real, y0!

(sorry Vancehu, for getting off-topic!)

the experience of buying this exhaust makes me feel like this fob above ^^^^

hey so the idea of making them in the states, won't work huh? You can make it single tip option like lot of the owners want. Plus people can buy what you have in stock instead of paying first and than waiting for thier exhaust. Plus you can cut the costs by more than half. I think I read on the other thread from another owner saying how we can send a man to moon but it's sad that a US based company can't design/build an exhaust of this quality. Or can they??? wouldnt it solve all your n primers here problems...

AFAIK they are available with Taitec GT 102 tips as an option.

Single tip? That's actually cheaper. Instead of more on GT-One products.

Vance, is that exhaust in your possession. Who's the lucky guina pig?

The first production came out of the factory yesterday is on its way to me. I should have it by SCA meet next Thursday.

Beauty of EMS, I'll be bring this one to the SCA meet. SCA guys, bring your check book. I'm going to arrange a awesome GB.

Vance, can you get some sound clips up/etc when you get it on a car?

Do the single tip versions have a slight upward tilt to them? I'd love to see how this sits on the car.

I received the exhaust yesterday and will preview it at the SCA meet tonight. The exhaust is for NA2LEV and as promo, I'll be selling this particular exhaust at my cost in exchange of review, dyno result and sound clip.

I'll keep you posted. I show it to some local guys yesterday, almost all of them like it except one person, who already own the 5.1 and defended his exhaust from the statement I made about the improvement on our exhaust, but it wasn't a big deal, it was matter of opinion.

I'll keep you posted. If I get positive feed back with enough interested parties, I may be able to request a GB pricing from Japan to save some money. The exchange rate is still unfavorable, but if I can have it knock off even by a $100 bucks, it will worth it.

if you get me a system to produce a jig, i have a place that can do it. the only issue is to find the right mufflers and tips, everything else is childplay.

:confused::confused::confused: I think you posted in the wrong thread. I'm not going to betray my friend who supply me not only this muffler, but all the NSX-R parts for other Primers.

Bel Canto Soprano Exhaust system Pic and Sound Clip

Supporting hardwares: C32B, Mugen AIS, Fujitsubo Header, and custom test pipes.

Sorry about the poor quality, but the sound recording came out decent, even though it is a little distorted on top end. We used my phone and the condition was dark. I'll try to redo this under day light with a better video camera in the near future.

Had my buddy Erick (EVOF575GTC) critiqued the exhaust today from inside the car, he mentioned. "This sound just like the F430 from the inside," a car he's been in on many occasions. Surprisingly, it goes beyond one octave, which is unusual for a exhaust made for production road car engine. I'm sure the 8000 RPM helped.

Even though it is model after the our competing unit, it is redesigned with larger bore, rounder edges/smoother bends and fewer welds through the bypass pipes. This result was exactly as I have predicted. For those who play the brass instrument, the comparison is similar to that of trumpet vs. flugelhorn. Both covers the same dynamic range/octive, but the flugelhorn has a smoother, fuller, and prettier high pitch sound (Trumpet = v5.1, Flugelhorn = Bel Canto Soprano). Therefore, it possessed high pitch note while retaining the openness similar to the GT-One v.2 (my old exhaust).

This is probably the closest sound to JGTC NSX.

I am very proud of the result!!!

Also

This is exhaust is louder than my old v.2 titanium exhaust.

Enjoy.

Re: Bel Canto Soprano Exhaust system Pic and Sound Clip

Acceleration sounds great! More vids please
How's the idle/low revs sound in the car?

Idle is very clean and low key. Similar to my old v.2. Low RPM under 3000 RPM is also fairly quiet under light throttle. I think I'll be fine with test pipes for a while:biggrin:

Re: Bel Canto Soprano Exhaust system Pic and Sound Clip

Vance,

as you compare the tone with your old exhaust, which is exactly the one i think is perfect , how you compare the weight of both?? i assume this new one is a lot heavier due to being stainless steel vs titanium and all those extra piping.

and, as you refer to the v2 as your "old one", are you selling it???:biggrin::biggrin:

Re: Bel Canto Soprano Exhaust system Pic and Sound Clip

I AM IN LOVE! That sound clip, not the best picture quality, really does capture the sound just right. Vance, check your PMs.

Re: Bel Canto Soprano Exhaust system Pic and Sound Clip

Vance gave me a ride in his car with the new exhaust last night, and wow, just wow. I am certainly impressed by it. At cruising speed, the exhaust note is very tame. You can actually have a conversation without having to yell over it; even at highway speeds. Punch it, and this thing SCREAMS!!! Absolutely the best of both worlds. I have heard exhausts that are either almost always loud or almost always quiet. This new exhaust system really stretches across both ends of that spectrum. I found that it would be very easy to live with for daily use and long trips, but can transform into a monster with just a stab of the accelerator.

I'm typically not impressed by much; at least not to the point of posting about it, but I really was impressed by this exhaust system. In my humble opinion, with this exhaust, they have achieved what many have been trying to achieve. I'm not one for loud exhausts; even my RM Racing exhaust has gotten too loud for me with the high flow cats, but this system does both quiet and loud VERY well. Congrats, Vance! I think that you've got a winner. :D

I'm not sure if I want to sell my v.2 because it is no longer available for export, so if I sell it, I can't buy another one.

However, As for the two, I need to do a dyno on the Soprano to see if both of them are similar in performance, if yes, I will consider selling the v.2 if the offer is right.

As for the weight difference, the v.2 is about 12.-13 lbs. This new exhaust is about 27 lbs, so it is heavier, but still much lighter when compare to the OEM unit.

I AM IN LOVE! That sound clip, not the best picture quality, really does capture the sound just right. Vance, check your PMs.

Yes, this unit is up for grab at my cost. It is for NA2LEV with dual tips, so it is still a little pricey even at my cost.

I have a NA1 header, so I'm going to make another order for my self, and a pair of NA1 high flow cats so it will fit my car. Regardless, you have PM.
