2nd Gen Iphone

The App Store for the iPhone is now up BTW. If you have the 2.0 firmware on your phone, you can go there now and start grabbing stuff. Alternately, I believe if you download the new iTunes 7.7, you can also view the listings on your computer.

Sweet, I'm gonna ask my brother if he'll buy my iPhone from me, if not I'm gonna put it up on craigslist.

I D/L'd the iTunes update this morning and can now see the Apps Store. This is definitely going to return my iPhone to "New Toy" status for a while!

Werd, there's alot of cool free apps already.

Yeah, now all I need is the 2.0 software for the phone. No luck so far - I don't think I'll see it until tomorrow.

Actually it has been leaked already. If you don't want to wait, go to www.modmyifone.com to get it.

I'm not sure if I am eligible to upgrade. I just talked to two different CSR's, and they told me contradictory stories regarding upgrading to a 3G phone and the $199/299 pricing. I'm gonna go to my local store and ask my friend that works there.

When I spoke to ATT on the phone they told me that almost all ATT existing customers are eligible with an extension of contract. I asked him to verify that I was actually eligible and he did within a minute. There's not a soul in line at my store and the employee I talked to said they didn't have anyone in line for the first one either. I'm just gonna roll by every hour or so and keep an eye on things.

There were only to persons in line at my local store. some kid and an older guy. My friend at the store said they had plenty, and they were receiving another shipment friday night.

I think I already wrote that no store is getting less than 200. At least that's the word I heard. My step-brother manages an Apple store and said he was going to have over 1000 on opening day, but wasn't sure exactly how many.
I've already been downloading apps in iTunes. I had a ton of gift certs left anyway and there's not really any music I want that I don't have.

Same here. I haven't purchased any yet, but I've been downloading alot of free ones.

I think the At&t stores will open this morning at 8am? I'm going to check it out and see what all the hype is all about. Maybe I might just get one.

Yup 8am it is. I put my iPhone on craigslist, and have had several calls/emails. I'm asking $300. As soon as I sell it, I'm getting a new one.

I was going to purchase an iphone until I found out that since I have not been with ATT for over 2 years, I am not eligible to spend my money on one.

It should actually be 18 months, if you're already in a contract with AT&T, you can't get the 199/299 rate until you're eligible for upgrade pricing which is 18 months after you signed your previous 2 year commitment. The exception to this is if you already have an iPhone purchased through AT&T as those weren't subsidized by AT&T, so they are allowing those people to purchase at 199/299 regardless of when they purchased.

My old 8gb is up for sale if anyone is interested.

My new 16gb is a little over half full thanks to a half dozen apps I felt like downloading. It's awesome so far. Super monkey ball is insane with this platform. It's more challenging and more fun all at once.

But, yeah, if you're an existing iPhone customer you can get the subsidized rate. I ended up being number 7 in line and #3 with an activated phone in hand. People were having a really bad time trying to get their numbers switched over from verizon. No other carriers were having problems, just verizon wouldn't authorize the numbers to be carried over.

I bought an incipio case for it that I'm not really happy with, but I needed one to fit the phone and it was only $20. FYI, the old cases fit, but the phone will rattle around in them.

I talked to my friend who manages a store, and a CSR over the phone, and I'm eligible for the $199/299 price ! I bought my iPhone last year at launch. I just sold my iPhone on Craigslist a little while ago for $300. My local store sold out this morning. They only had 100 phones I believe, but they already got another shipment in, but are not allowed to sell them till tomorrow morning. I have my monthly military drill this weekend, so my buddy is setting one aside for me. I'll be paying for it tonight.

Got mine, Blk 8G, there is a learning curve, I'm working on it! Thanks

Wow, I've had a lot of fun tonight with the 2.0 upgrade and the App Store. I know there were some problems with server loads today, but it all worked smooth for me. Nicely done Apple!

I was in Savannah earlier and the 3G is truly leaps and bounds above Edge. I can't think of a complaint yet. I've probably spent a few hours browsing apps between on the laptop through itunes and on the phone

I just purchased Arshad's game and promptly spent the next 20 minutes freaking out trying to figure out which cubes to eliminate. Simple and elegant combined to be very entertaining. A steal at the 2.99 price.
Can't wait to see what else you're working on.
I also can't wait for that action/adventure game that was featured towards the end of the keynote to come out.

Cool, thanks for buying it! If you are enjoying it, please post up a positive review on the iTunes store -- that'll really help me out :-) The more you play, the more you'll start to come up with advanced strategies and you start to realize that you actually need to think one or two moves ahead, and sacrifice smaller chains in order to make bigger ones. I'm looking at sprucing up the graphics, and adding some new gameplay elements like bonus items, bonus levels, global high scores etc. These will of course be free updates to the game.

The other project I'm working on is much bigger, more graphical, and considerably more complex. I don't think there will be too many games like that one out, but it will take a few weeks to get all the gameplay balanced and polished before I can put it up for sale.

Why not? You can get the early upgrade pricing. It's not as low as the $199/$299 pricing but they will not turn you away if you want to buy the iPhone. The did give you that option didn't they? You could have taken them up on it.

Though the goals are different, the approach is similar to how one would approach a rubik's cube. After a few miserable failures I started rotating the brick before making a single move to get a good idea of what I'm working with.

I submitted a review, hopefully a few more will also to help cancel out that one individual that is apparently incapable of reading instructions
