The App Store for the iPhone is now up BTW. If you have the 2.0 firmware on your phone, you can go there now and start grabbing stuff. Alternately, I believe if you download the new iTunes 7.7, you can also view the listings on your computer.
I D/L'd the iTunes update this morning and can now see the Apps Store. This is definitely going to return my iPhone to "New Toy" status for a while!
Werd, there's alot of cool free apps already.
Yeah, now all I need is the 2.0 software for the phone. No luck so far - I don't think I'll see it until tomorrow.
When I spoke to ATT on the phone they told me that almost all ATT existing customers are eligible with an extension of contract. I asked him to verify that I was actually eligible and he did within a minute. There's not a soul in line at my store and the employee I talked to said they didn't have anyone in line for the first one either. I'm just gonna roll by every hour or so and keep an eye on things.
I think I already wrote that no store is getting less than 200. At least that's the word I heard. My step-brother manages an Apple store and said he was going to have over 1000 on opening day, but wasn't sure exactly how many.
I've already been downloading apps in iTunes. I had a ton of gift certs left anyway and there's not really any music I want that I don't have.
I think the At&t stores will open this morning at 8am? I'm going to check it out and see what all the hype is all about. Maybe I might just get one.
I was going to purchase an iphone until I found out that since I have not been with ATT for over 2 years, I am not eligible to spend my money on one.
It should actually be 18 months, if you're already in a contract with AT&T, you can't get the 199/299 rate until you're eligible for upgrade pricing which is 18 months after you signed your previous 2 year commitment. The exception to this is if you already have an iPhone purchased through AT&T as those weren't subsidized by AT&T, so they are allowing those people to purchase at 199/299 regardless of when they purchased.
I just purchased Arshad's game and promptly spent the next 20 minutes freaking out trying to figure out which cubes to eliminate. Simple and elegant combined to be very entertaining. A steal at the 2.99 price.
Can't wait to see what else you're working on.

Cool, thanks for buying it! If you are enjoying it, please post up a positive review on the iTunes store -- that'll really help me out The more you play, the more you'll start to come up with advanced strategies and you start to realize that you actually need to think one or two moves ahead, and sacrifice smaller chains in order to make bigger ones. I'm looking at sprucing up the graphics, and adding some new gameplay elements like bonus items, bonus levels, global high scores etc. These will of course be free updates to the game.
The other project I'm working on is much bigger, more graphical, and considerably more complex. I don't think there will be too many games like that one out, but it will take a few weeks to get all the gameplay balanced and polished before I can put it up for sale.
