The Noble was absolutely sick sounding. I was behind him, not by chance, during a couple sections of the poker run last Friday. The engine note and blow off sounds were visceral! Mark Hicks was my co-pilot and we kept ourselves very entertained by cracking the windows and waiting for Tim to...
Not to mention garnering such awards as "NSX most likely to ooze honey" in the concourse event...
I too enjoyed a ride in "The Bee". One of many great memories I took home from NSXPO 2004. Thanks again John! :D
Mike,
Thanks for stopping by. Your car is beautifully done. I tried to watch the divx video but was only able to hear the audio, which was interesting on it's own! Any chance you could post it in a different format?
I was also treated to about five laps around the Glen in DocJohn's car. Considering the weight penalty he was enduring with me in the car, (228#), it was especially impressive to watch him reel in the other cars on track. During the session just after lunch my wife and I watched the cars on...
If it's a kit install, I would say 4-500. If it's a custom install then it would be worth more like $800. Just saw a very informative segment on this at one of the tech seminars put on during NSXPO. If your paint is in good shape it's a great way to protect it.
Yes, I noticed it on the left side of the frame as they showed the cars entering pit lane. To my eye it looked like it might be a Zanardi. The red looked darker and the wheels looked like the Zanardi mesh. Nice to see them using the car for some promotion...all too rare unfortunately.
I would like to thank Peter and Sylvia Mills, Larry Bastanza, DocJohn, Bob Ondrovic and the NE members for their hard work in organizing and running NSXPO 2004. This is my 3rd NSXPO and I can say this has been the best organized event yet. (This is not to say that the other events were lacking...
It was nice to see some footage of the NSX on TV. However, that guy needs to learn how to drive the damn thing a little better. He slipped the clutch bad on the last segment as he drove away from the camera. You could almost smell that scalded disc!
Some constructive input-
Do something with the color of your wheel centers. They are similar in color to the body but not an exact match. You'd be better off going with a contrasting color than one that was close but missed. Gun metal or black perhaps would look good against the gold paint...
I have the MoVit BBK on the front axle of my '94. I am running HRE 547's in 17x8 and 18x10 on the street. I am looking for a cost effective track wheel that will have adequate backspacing to accomodate the '96-'97 Porsche Turbo rotor and caliper that the MoVit kit is based on. Does anyone...
I used to run a Flowmaster setup on my '94. Yes, it is very reasonable. Something like $80-$100 for the muffler, $120 for some nice tips and $50 to my local exhaust shop to weld it up. Call it $300 total. Pros, the sound is evil. More like a muscle car from the 60's than an import. It is...
Gruppe M makes an exhaust that has a beautiful exhaust note. It has a velvety smooth exhaust note that is very deep at idle and low rpms. At full throttle high rpm use it sounds almost Porsche like.
Vince,
You can buy a CTSC for your '94 for probably $7500-$8000 max today. IMO, the CTSC is a proven package that wouldn't "scare away" a performance oriented buyer. There will always be buyers seeking a pristene oem example. For them, it would be a negative. BTW, if you're worried...
Gene,
I'm sorry to hear of your misfortune. I'm relieved to hear that it's a "relatively" minor issue that was caught early on. I'm very pleased to learn of the support you are receiving from Factor X. That is exactly what we all would have wanted for you. It's nice to know they...
RPM,
Many thanks for your offer! As for the divorce part, I don't think your wife will feel very threatened. My wife is about 5 months pregnant! :D
I'll look forward to meeting you next week. Best regards...
This package is designed to be naturally aspirated. The pistons used are 11:1 compression ratio which would not be very compatible with the supercharger. Those who do engine mods in conjunction with forced induction normally reduce the compression ratio from the original 10.2:1 to perhaps...
Wei-Shen,
You know I'll be glad to lend a helping hand with #35. Changing to track rubber, torquing lug nuts, etc! BTW, I just found a box of pads in my garage from NSXPO 2002. I believe they are yours! I'll plan to bring them with me if you'd like.
I hope you faired well...
The Noble is an interesting package. There was a distributor at Sebring back in March that had three of them on display. I'd love to go for a demo ride if possible! (shameless speed junky)
I've heard some very sad news, if it's true, regarding a significant failure of a recently received FX500 car. Purportedly the car suffered damage while on the dyno in the St. Louis area while Factor X was tuning it. Please note that this information was provided to me second hand so lets see...
Miled,
Thank you for your good wishes. We were very fortunate this weekend with Hurricane Jeanne. We had 70-75 mph gusts but none of the deadly winds experienced on the Atlantic coast. We are in the tail end of the storm as I type this and still have power, phone, etc. This has been...
I'm having my engine sleeved and built for a turbo application and will be at NSXPO next month. I'd like to see some cars that are turbo charged in person if possible. A demo ride would be even better. Anyone planning to have a turbo charged car at NSXPO for all to see? Factor X? Gerry?
Wei-Shen,
That's great! Heather and I will look forward to seeing you guys Wednesday then. We're not sure what hotel we'll be staying at that night but it will be close to the NSXPO site for sure.
