I am tempted to get the DC Sport Exhaust. The tips point up and are wide. Someone also recommended HKS. Anyone have experience with these? I don't like the Comptech because it looks boring and everyone seems to have them. I want to keep my budget below $1500. Any advice is welcome.

Thanks.

I don't like the CT either! Mine blew out.
For exhaust, I would look at the Tubi, RM, or the one of the Taitec. Take a look on the SOS website( www.scienceofspeed.com ).

ps - I run a custom flowmaster with custom exhaust tips. Sounds alot better then the Comptech and cost me about $200. I'm very happy with it being on a short budget!

Aftermarket Exhaust

I have purchased the Taitec GT Lightweight exhaust and have been extremely happy with it. Great throughty sound, lightweight and something different. This would be my recommendation

1500$ is very close to the Tubi price.

And it is everthing but not boring with those exact looking Ferrari 355 tips! :)

I heard several different NSX exhausts (never a Taitec though) and I ended up with the Tubi, I love it!

I have the HKS and it just went bad on me after 40,000 miles so I'm in the market for a new exhaust also.

I've heard the Taitec Center exhaust with the cats, how does the GT sound without cats?

TIA.

Your question has no answer except the rediculous such as:

The tubi.. because I have one. Usually whatever someone has is going to be the "best".

Seriously, whatever is best for one is not going to be best for another. Best at what? looks? sound? quality? weight?

The best thing you can do is deceide what you want in an exhaust and what you want to spend. Then try to read about all of them you can find, listen to sound clips, try to see some in person, and then make your choice based on what is best for YOU.

I have a Tubi and i'm happy with it, although for some it may not be loud enough, and the tips are a bit crooked, but not enough to bother me.

What was best for me was the fact that I wanted dual tips, and a sound louder and different than stock, but not so loud as to interfer with conversation or the stereo. The Tubi was the best for me.

personally, i'm sick of spending over $1000 for nsx exhausts that don't last more than a couple years.
anytime exhaust=LIFETIME WARRANTY=last exhaust i'll ever buy.

yeah that one,

they list it for 180000 yen, about 1000 pounds, or like $1500.

I was looking at a used one in yahoo auctions. Or if I can find a reasonable discount it will be nice... I need to leave some money for manifolds too.

fall made of stainless steel. pipe is 60 mm, silencer 152 mm, tip is 115 x 2. Fitted by removing the CAT. OK to fit to LHD cars too.

just won the auction for theKakimoto, (used), 1000 pounds cheaper than new...

now i need to look for manifolds (headers). there is a fujistubo for around 700 used, but is missing a small pipe... or shall i just get a new taitec??

Is there a Kakimoto distributor/reseller in the US? Are these exhausts any good - fit/finish/durability?

Don't do it!!!!!!!!!!!!! I bought a DC Brand new and only kept it on my car for about 2 weeks. It is heavier than stock, very quiet and no noticable performance gain. It was the worst purchase I have ever made for the NSX.

I called chris@sos and he qualified me as being happiest with the Taitec JGTC parallel. I got it and love it! Call Chris, he will get you in the right one for you!

is there any performance increase on these exhausts? no mention of it in that chart.

Does anyone just have straight Dyno's with Stock and Taitec GT lightweight?

I'm interested in buying this exhaust from SOS, anyone have some stories and any thoughts on that exhaust system? I've seen 2 videos from fellow NSX'ers out there, and I like what I see and hear so far! :)

What is the weight of the Anytime exhaust is that the only one with lifetime wty? Looks very big in size compared to the rest, looks like it would be heavy?

Thanks,

The anytime is about 40 pounds. It is not as loud as the taitec from what i can see.

Sigh, I live in So Cal so I'm limited to those which are CARB exempt. I'm too lazy to swap exhausts out when I do a smog check. Which exhausts are CARB legal? I know comptech is. Is DC sports CARB legal?

I just wanted to change mine as I don't like the one on mine at the mo. And I want to remove teh CAT. (you can do this in the UK for cars made in 1992 or older)

I like the Kakimoto design, cos it removes the CAT and is in 2 pieces. Want something louder as well.

I like my Comptech exhaust, however, I dont think they make my version any more.
