Headed to Japan for a couple of weeks. Let's see what I can find for the NSX out there.

My buddy already has a bunch of my parts sitting at his place in Tokyo.

02R black perforated suede door cards
02R twin spline shaft
02R interior door sash - matte black
OE Exterior door sash
02R door arm rest - smooth leather to match 02R arm rest
Type S exterior door handles - grey "NSX" logo
T3Tec LW Flywheel (twin disc version)

Deciding if I should go with the OEM twin disc clutch or OS Giken that T3Tec offers?
Might stop by T3Tec to pick up some other things as well.

We might be looking at "003" here...

I'd stick with the OEM twin disc and the T3 flywheel. I have this combo (Jun flywheel) and it is fabulous. Easy to drive too.

I am super jealous that you get to go there! Also consider the T3 A/C compressor guard (if you have headers) and the T3 crank pulley guard. I would also ask about Honda parts chain discontinuation and the refresh center and report back here.

I was leaning towards OEM clutch, read some good things about OS Giken - but I think I'll stick with OEM. Thanks @Honcho
Will definitely ask about the parts situation and refresh program out there.
Look for the Honda or Acura wheel centre caps in Washi Grey - they are more classy than the BBS ones IMHO
Yes! Been meaning to find some, I think the correct Type S Zero Washi Grey caps have a white "H"? would prefer it in black but I could be wrong.

The Giken clutches are very nice, but finicky and require adjustment. OEM is plug and play.

Here are the Washi "H" Caps:

Also, I just remembered- if you haven't already, buy a set of targa seals in Japan. These are vital for the T-top and may be discontinued soon.

02R Jersey mesh A pillars

OEM exterior door sash
OEM interior door handle with black perforated leather and black handle

Picked up some Mugen goodies at A PIT Autobacs too.

Started off by clean the tacky stuff off using WD40, works wonders. Lots of elbow grease and dirty rags.

Door cards look amazing, don't expect anything less from Studio6Zero, they hand delivered these to me at my hotel to make sure I got them before I left.

Nothing too exciting for most, but for me the details are worth it.

Interior is probably done for now. Can't believe it's been over a year since taking delivery of the car.

Hi Kev, I've been enjoying your thread this quiet morning. Really love the philosophy of your build. OEM plus is the way to go, IMHO. These cars are so rare, so special, and so well thought out from the factory, that a degree of caution must used when tinkering. Your build, Honcho's build (and many others on here) are examples of the right way to do it, because they preserve what makes the car great in the first place.

I have this theory that major manfucaturers have to make compromise after compromise to bring their ideas into production. The wise modifications are those that Mother Honda would have done if the bean counters and regulatory nannies were not involved. When we see Type S, Type R, Type Zero versions of the NSX, it's Honda nudging closer to what they are capable of doing. It's only when some hamfist at Bob's garage starts messing with the car, bolting on 40 pound wheels and gluing body parts on it that things can go off the rails. Well done and keep up the good work (which in my book means keep spending tons of money on all those JDM parts) :)

Air cooled Porsches and my NSX will probably be the only cars left in my garage on the day they put me in the ground. All the rest are just passing fancies. (I may have to make an exception for my NC1 Type S).
