Where are all the Production deliveries ??

Yes indeed. The sticker price in my country puts it in rarefied, exotic company. The competitors roll out their red carpet and I'm old enough to know to use appropriate assertiveness calling to account for that which is below par, but also honors excellence in service. They are charging a premium and therefore they will need to deliver.

What country.. Utopia?

Or else what, you'll walk?? Reality is, the dealer doesn't really care. They can sell the NSX to someone else for more.

Also, in my country there are no restrictions for a private individual to import their own vehicle. I can import an NSX at sticker retail from Japan or the UK, and land it with a bag of money way, way less than the Honda sticker price here. If I sense I'm not being treated as a valued client by the local Honda network, I'll simply go for plan B....

The weekly update on day early

handling of the car only by the mater tech may differ between the PDI and future visits and dealership approaches
crushing the prototypes happens, a gen 1 was saved through an alliance and that may be possible this time
some one here will be happy this week
the 2-3 month window notice stuff is still tbd
one accessory offered from day 1 has no love
test drive is still tbd
flipped cars that ended up markets where no cars have been received generated some grumping
production rate has ups and downs
i blasted Clement for the hack job he did during the Japan launch and noted the ZDX designer was not there
the recent comment from someone here about the dealership not communicating the car being built may have to do with the frequency the dealer checks the system

The dealers who haven't received cars and are seeing this crahp go on are noting the situation
there may be some repurcussions but I think it will be limited to a hey, what is going one here conversation

I can pretty much promise that for many years to come it's going to be only the dealer's certified NSX technician that handles the car from start to finish for whatever procedure it's in for. Service procedures are so drastically different than any other Honda/Acura, that they'd be beyond stupid to trust that to anyone else.

At this point I can tell you that most dealers will not allow a test drive to anyone even if they are 99% sure you're buying the car. Because if you don't buy, now they have a car with miles on it that have to be explained to the next guy. It's been found that many buyers of cars like this are very particular and want zero, or as close as possible, miles on it at delivery. The customer even has the option of having the vehicle delivered at their home.

Sorry about not providing context

the test drives would be put together by Acura like they were in Monterey. There was mention of doing it when additional dealership staff orientations are done at the PMC but nothing is real for the moment

i can't see paying a top tech to wash my car at a dealership. My impression is that some dealers will be able to decide who does what after the car is delivered. For PDI and delivery, only the NSX tech touches the car is confirmed

i don't want the $12 an hour wash person to put my car into a tree

Too bad they didn't build a valet mode into the car.

What is the one accessory getting no love?

You gotta guess

i was asked to be more cryptic

it should be ez

also, the warehouse is less full

i no longer believe 150 us cars have been built and am sol on a September delivery

I'd guess the illuminated door sills or the $9400 wheels.

Bingo

at least they are actually asymmetrical for $9400 (you get 4 distinct part numbered wheels for that dough)

the interwovens are not so they present differently on each side of the car

Not track certified. And not even people who work for AHM like the look of them. Don't see those wheels being a hot seller.

The only people at the store who are even allowed to touch the car for any reason at this time are the ones who have the NSX certification. So whether it's the dedicated sales specialist, the dedicated master tech, a sales/general manager, or the dealer principal...someone will be washing and parking the car that typically leVes that job to someone further down the totem pole. 5-10 years from now? Might be another story. But for now and the near future, access to that car and the clients is very much controlled.

Don't think there will be any more staff orientations like there was in Ohio at the TRC (not PMC) back in May. That was pretty much a one time event for a week and that's that. The odds of them allowing the public into TRC for any reason are laughable. No amount of NDAs in the world will stop someone from blabbing what they might see there or trying to sneak in a camera. Master tech training was also a batch event over a week in Torrance. As cars become a available to use for such purposes, they will open the service training courses at training centers more local to the dealerships. The test drive thing in Monterey was invitation only if I heard right. You guys have some NSXpo event coming up...if there was going to be a place to just sort of walk right up and take test drives? That's gotta be it. If not there, then they're not planning on doing that at all. Because I know at the dealer level, it ain't happening.

Staff turnover happens so additional PMC orientation will happen

I am not arguing with you, I am just giving you what I got

The happy person is near me

Staff turnover happens so additional PMC orientation will happen

Where did you hear this?

The "Performance Driving School" event for that week at TRC (nothing happened as far as training goes at PMC) was kind of a big deal for American Honda. The dynamic handling course (infield race track) was tied up for that whole week, pretty much the entire Marriot in Columbus was booked up for the week, dozens of vehicles brought in (including around 8 NSXs), charter buses rented, large party tents erected on the grounds, catering, plus many classroom/driving instructors were contracted in for the event. Something in the neighborhood of 6-800 dealership personnel attended.

I don't see them putting that all together again in a year or two just so a few dozen new people can get a lapel pin. Dealer principles and GMs don't turnover very much at all. I understand a sales associate would be where the highest risk of turnover is, but hopefully each store chose someone who didn't just start three months ago and has been with them for a number of years.

The orientation is the thing they will be doing

i was not talking about a heavy track event

if they were going to set up to do training they could tack on some test drives for both the folks being trained and some interested customers. At this point I believe the test drives have no internal champion

i thought the idea sukt because I have no interest in being in Ohio except for the factory tour

i told them to do the test drives in major cities like Chicago that people want to visit and have the demographically appropriate population

I wouldn't mind being flown down to a nice hotel in Scottsdale like they did for the 09 TSX launch.

I am with you 92

for the LFA intro in Miami (when the car was in prototype stage) I just had to get there and take care of the hotel

they covered the limo to the Homestead track, put on a great event and then had the limo take me to the airport
