The Fast & Furious filming in Miami

What I find particularly amusing is that all this speculation is about one rather average movie that matters very little to a large section of the movie going public.

Keep in mind this movie isn't getting a sequel because it was a blockbuster. The only reason is because it was cheap (by today's standards....I think it cost $35mil), and it turned a tidy profit for the studio by bringing in about $100mil.

Most people did not see this movie. The general public's perception of the NSX will NOT change substantially. The people that saw it because they like the import/street racing scene already have their own pre-conceived notions on the NSX. They either like it, or they think it's a waste of money. Seeing on the screen, racing or not, will not change their attitude much, at least not in the capacity to go out and spend a minimum of $30K.

Mom and dad might be willing to spend $20K on an Accord/Integra/Civic for their kid, but they ain't gonna drop that amount on a 12 year old two seater.
(Yeah, that last statement was just me being a smart *ss. Don't flame me on it. I realize a lot of these high school kids can afford to buy a new car and all those aftermarket parts.)

Fury is right. For god's sakes, this movie won't even make $60 million. Plus it's a movie, who gives a shit if the NSX is blown up, owned by a drug lord, driven off a cliff, or whatever.

I love the NSX, but man this board got verrrrrrrry nerdy about the car in this particular thread. This ain't yer momma ladies, it's a CAR. No one should care about how it's "portrayed" in some friggin movie.

lmao!
