So today, we had an S2ki event down in Miami...just cruised around down there. After the drive, I noticed something: Throughout the day, I saw a total of four Ferrari 360s on the road. Two red, one Yellow and one silver. You know how many NSX's I saw? 0. I know the NSX is more mass produced than the 360 (i think?), but just to see that many f-cars over nsx's makes me wonder....

Another thing I notice: with the Ferrari, everyone knows what it is and loves it...with the NSX, alot of people have questions and it draws attention...sometimes thats good, sometimes its not.

I've been keeping a count of the total 360's I see before I see another NSX for a few weeks now...total 360's (not f-cars, JUST 360's) seen so far: 8. Total NSXs (besides mine and Armandos): 0.

Well, I'd rather own an 355 over a 360...despite performance. I do love the 360 interior, but I LOVE the 355 exterior (hate the interior).

The exhaust note of the 355 is incomparable to the 360...the 360 sounded pretty pathetic IMO...I thought my NSX hitting VTEC sounded better than the 360...it didn't even sound like a car to me.

But ya, i'd rather own a 360 over an NSX :) but it seems so far the NSX is more rare...at least around here.

Wow! I think the same!

And this isn't contradictory to the facts that I prefer the NSX interior over the 360 though! And I also prefer the NSX exterior over the 355!

:)

If you are looking for some Ferrari production numbers, I have them for the cars that are no longer being produced, keep in mind these are worldwide, not just USA,

1998-99 355 F1 Berlinetta 1042
1998-99 355 F1 GTS 529
1998-99 F1 Spider 1053
1996-2001 550 Maranello 3600
2002-2003 Enzo Ferrari 399

I am under the impression that around 400 to 500 NSX's are made each year, worldwide, anyone know?

I should add 400-500 each currently made each year.

Where I work around my hospital close to the beach, 360's far out-number NSXes.

I prefer the 360 over the F355 because of its similarity to the NSX (titanium rods, aluminum body, high-rev....)

I would love to have a 360 in addition to the NSX and the MR2. However, if I have to pick one car, it is still the NSX.

I know which one I'd rather own. And it isn't the NSX (I'll deal with it). :)

But the 360 should have gotten the F355 exhaust note.

I always liked the 355's exhaust note better than the 360 stock for stock. But who says modified is cheating?

Check this out, maybe it'll change your mind about 360's... definitely brings it closer if not better than an F355's sound.

Here is a Tubi'd F355 for comparison:

And another modified (don't know which brand?) F355

For me,

If I was rich I'll buy the 360 but I'd rather buy the 355 first (still love the look).

Even if I was rich I would still buy the NSX. Why? Durability, simplicity.

But now I could say I bought the NSX over the Ferrari because of the affordability though I could still buy a second-hand Ferrari if I really want too. Main point is I don't buy Ferrari because it is very expensive to maintain.:(

Last time I checked, the production numbers of the 355 was 2/3 of the NSX one. Do not know about the 360...

Probably you see more 355 than NSX because:

- a lot of NSX were totaled and sold for parts, probably this happens less on accident-Ferrari (they keep a high value and that increases the numbers of salvaged ones). This shgould level out the 1/3 difference between the two cars

- the 355 is in average 5-6 years younger than the NSX (recent cars are seen more often on the street)

NSX's hidden selling point...!

My sentiments EGGACTLY Jin1976. A Ferrari w/o 'gremlins' and service issues would have a miniscule half-life on the used car-lot/etc...:)

(we ALL want one, just won't admit it- or can't find owning it practical... most of us, if not all: to correct myself)

Even in crappy little monroe, there are 2 360's and 1 355, but only 2 NSX's. So the NSX's are more rare :)

it's true in NY too. Especially in Long Island....everybody has a Ferrari whether 355 or 360 and even Lamboghinis...but very few NSX. I would buy any of the above when I get money but I still consider myself quite exotic plus the Ferrari guys check me out too. heheheheh.

Ya, thats because there were S2k's between when I was in front~!

:)

I was hanging with you through the corners...especially when u were leading us down to South Beach, but on the freeway i had NO SHOT at keeping up!! lol I could just picture "Mrs. NSX" ducking behind the glovebox like you said!

I'd like to see a comparison of numbers of all types of 355's and 360's in NA compared to NSX in NA (~8500 is the number of North American NSX's I've been quoting). I think that is a reasonable comparison...or maybe we should include 348's?? At any rate, I think we should stick to those numbers imported to North America.

It all depends where you live. In Indy I've seen 3 red X'x, 1 black, and 1 yellow in the last 3 years when I saw my first. I've only seen 1 355 and 1 360 and 2 Lambo's (real or kit's, don't know).
If you're in area's like Miami, New York, Chicago, and California you're going to see alot of Ferrari (Porsche and Lambo's too)from all the posers who just buy it for the name, not the performance. I'll bet you over half of Ferraris sold in those areas are automatics.
The NSX is not well known enough for rich posers who are dieing for attention to purchase it, and that's huge reason why I love it!!! I'ld hate to see another NSX coming down the road EVERY DAY, or with Vette's EVERY 15 MINUTES, most a auto's too!!! :(

Dan

There are only 131 NSX's in the whole of Australia.. Over 80 ferraris were sold just last year.

NSX are just bout the rarest cars in OZ.. not including my M3 vert only 70 in OZ and 5 in my colour.

Have to go against the grain on this one as far as the quad cities are concerned. 4 NSX's, 1 360.
