Magnum Opus...My Quest for Driving Perfection (1993 Coupe Build).

210? front:oops:

Those wheels look unbelievable! :love:

I have always loved the blades silver effect on the OEM wheels, especially on red. In bright sun they look almost white and in the fading light the alloy just glows. You really nailed it with those wheels.

Excellent Choice of wheel for your car. I loved my Prodrives on mine and its not that same run of the mill 10 wheels you see when you go to the Nsxpo. like myself you might only see one other set there.

Gorgeous, the finish you have is what used to be called "diamond cut". Had that done on other cars and love them. It used to be pretty common as my old 78 Camaro came with them (the finish). Clear coats were not so great then so they would start to break down after five or so years of road salt. But i assume modern clear coats should be very very good and i'm sure this car isn't your winter car as my camaro was (really fun in the snow ice he-he). Not saying anyone should consider it, but i just got new tires and had to touch up my OE polished wheels and will post on how to polish wheels yourself if desired. After having the polished wheels for decades, i wasn't sure i could like standard paint now, but your diamond coat makes a ton of sense. The bling of polished with the maintenance of paint. Thanks so much for publishing the weights. Polish post to follow FWIW

To my eye..perfect stance...

any thought to the underbelly..ie flat bottom/diffusers..

Yes, you are so correct as to ride height and stance...I love the way it looks, but I wouldn't dare try it outside of Arizona. Much like the concept cars we all drool over, real world use is a whole different story. Thankfully, I've put about 7000 miles on the car, and *knock on wood* I haven't had any issues. (I mentioned earlier that at this stance, the front spoiler is a wear item, but even then I'm still on the spoiler number one. The real challenges are steep inclines going into stores/parking lots. However, I don't use the car as a daily, and I live in a fairly small town, so I know the spots that will work and those that will not. My drive to the canyon and then the actual canyon two lane is as smooth as a billiard table. Carving that canyon road makes me feel like a hero, even if I'm not!

Speaking of carving the canyon, I neglected to mention a couple other small mods which I believe are super worthwhile and quite noticeably improve the already superb steering response of the mighty NSX:

1. I installed the upper and lower front chassis bars (OEM from the NSX-R). As many of you know, the upper bar is best done with the front bumper removed, but the lower bar is straight bolt in from beneath.

2. I also installed the NSX-R front sway bar. (Obviously, it's the lower, thick bar in the attached photo). In back-to-back drives with the factory bar vs. the NSX-R bar, the improvement was quite dramatic. However, I did notice a slight degradation of ride quality with the thicker bar. Totally worth in though. When I went to the super-light wheels, I noticed that the ride quality returned to what it felt like with the standard bar. Strange...but I'm sure a chassis engineer could explain it.

@DeHaldaswerth

Dare I say, NSX perfection right there! Kudos for still throwing miles on it with the Type S as a stablemate, I struggle with not grabbing the keys to the newer and faster NSX.

@The Kid,

Hilarious that you should mention that. I am, as I post this, sitting at the bottom of the canyon and guess what car I’m in?

Oh my, but the Type S is mighty coming out of a corner…

remind us again what you have as a fender badge on the S

You sir are royalty!!!
