Looking at some of my previous post you guys can tell i'm a movie buff.
i was at work listening to what some people thought was the scariest movie they had seen. The exorcist, amityville horror and the omen, were mentioned. I haven't seen those in my adult life but, i remember being scared of the movie posters and previews. I saw "the mist" over the weekend and it was a good movie but it to me was not the scariest i had seen. All the SAW movies make me want to leave the lights in the house, they tells you my scare caliber. Anyway, i'd like to get your opinions of the scariest movie you've seen or that was made. A co-worker says he not "scareable". I bet him a few cold one's i recommend him a good scary movie. thanks

I'm not really one for scary movies. But I did see one when I was a kid that scared the crap out of me. It's called The Watcher in the Woods and is actually a Disney movie.

I'm not the biggest gore movie fan, but the scariest movie that I can remember seeing considering my age at the time (11) was Alien. I remember seeing it with my father while we were on vacation at Nantucket and we had to walk back to the marina at night. Holy $hit did that movie scare the fvck out of me!

The changling, only because I watched it and then had to walk on an old dirt road through the woods home, and I am talking about a road that had been closed to traffic for more than 100 years. I have told this story on Prime before so I won't get into all the details. It was really dark that night, I couldn't even see a foot or two ahead and I walked right into someone else walking on the same trail.

Candyman scared the heck out of me when I saw it in college. The theatre was packed and I've never heard so many people yell at one time. None of my friends, nor I, could say Candyman 3 times in front of the mirror for a pretty long time. I'm not sure I would today. :)

There was an old movie called Price of Darkness (no its not a vampire movie) back in the early-mid 80's that was pretty creepy because of the religious undertones. It was good for its time because it also played a bit on the millenium thing, and we all know what a let down Y2K was lol, was just another day, and another year.

Not into the graphic-scary movies, but I love a good suspense film. I'd say, for suspense (scary): "What Lies Beneath" and "Darkness Falls". Those are two good suspense/scary films to watch with the lights off.

If it is the movie I think it is, I remember that movie. The girl in the movie wa F-I-N-E! The end was static on the tv and there was a message from the future?

Two movies. One is Exorcist and the other one is a Malaysian movie translated title Don't Look Back. Both movies are based on true stories. I've seen the real thing and watching these movies remind me of those experiences. Crazy!

Burnt Offerings (1976) Karen Black and Oliver Reed

+1

Still one of the creepiest movies of all time. Claustrophobic camera angles and Gothic set design make this a true horror classic. I love Giger and his work.

I think you guys mean The Prince of Darkness.Scary Movies depend on the age of the viewer, currently the scariest movie I've seen is Redline. Back in the day the original Phantasm had some merit.Watch it now though and it seems laughable.Has there been any recent movies that wove the webs of suspense like the original Exorcist and Omen?

Scary movies don't scare me. Actually they piss me off. A little common sense would keep all those people from getting murdered/killed/butchered/mauled/ground/electrified/beheaded/etc....
Saw series of movies are the ones that came close though. My favorite scary movie is Scary Movie and it's sequels

the exorcist
carrie
the shining
night of the living dead [orig...]

funny thing about old age,
nothing scares me much anymore.
