Boy you are attention starved... J/K

Most of us have family and work commitments. Personally it is hard for me to get away for the weekend without the family.

We all have family and other obligations. Take the kids to the grandparents because every parent needs quite time away fom their children - once in a while. Then you can get away with the wife away for a weekend and show her why you bought your NSX. NSXPO is not just about the car, it's the mingling with 100+ other owners who share a common passion for the NSX.

Or Take your spouse and children,I did and we all had fun, plus you know roughly when it will be each year, plan ahead,we(NE crew) do!

I am new. (6 mo's)
I went (with my better 1/2)
If you live in So Cal and could have made it but didn't,
You blew it.
And I was surprised more from our area didn't attend.
The Caravan through the desert was a blast. (around 30 cars)
Not sure we could do as well putting one together if we tried.
This was my 1st NSXPO but have to think it must have been a stand out.
It was over the top organized.
And the area at this year's NSXPO lends itself to driving.
The time it must have taken to put this years NSXPO together
is beyond comprehension.
It was that good.
In all honesty, I am not sure I could have done 1/2 as well.
But still have the dream of driving my 94 at Laguna Seca.
(which is a longer drive for me than AZ, LOL LOL)

Well, last year we had JGTC in Fontana and about 100 NSX show, and last year we had 50+ on the annual Canyon Drive, earlier this year we had Karting in SD over 30 show, this years Canyon Drive over 40 show.
(None of the above mention events are FREE)
I guest those events don't count???

I have been to hundreds of car related events, no comparison.
Not even close.
Yes the local meets are fun but its apples and oranges.

I definitely appreciated everyone that came to NSXPO this year, including those from CA (Da Hapa, MCM, ANYTIME, FuryNSX, etc., etc.). In the end our attendance was quite good and a manageable number logistically, but we had anticipated more attendees from CA. There seems to be the "perception" among some that the West Coast in general (and CA in particular) is less "hardcore" and willing to travel to many events outside of the region. It is clear anyway that the NE represented in MUCH larger numbers at '03 & '05 NSXPOs than CA, & AZ did in '04. Hopefully that trend will reverse next year in FL.

Obviously there are many reasons for people to not attend events like NSXPO (work, family, $$$, etc.), but sometimes there is an attitude present of "why should I go out of state when I can attend events locally". As MCM said, those events are not quite the same as NSXPO even though they can be quite fun. Sometimes that makes them easier to attend because it is only 1 or 2 days max, where NSXPO can take considerably more time. Having said that, I do get the impression from some CA residents that they won't attend unless it's convenient for them, rather than making any effort to attend.

Again, for some the NSXCA and group activities simply aren't a priority, but those really don't know what their missing out on. I similarly would encourage (as has been mentioned already in this thread) a group from SoCal to try to organize a bid for a future NSXPO. It is a MAJOR undertaking, but that is the only way it will actually occur in any location, with a group of local people giving back to the community with their time to put it together.

Events like JGTC & Prime Canyon Drive are GREAT and wouldn't happen without a number of dedicated individuals working to put on the events (Steve Riter, John & Tina Richards among others), but they aren't quite the same as an NSXPO. And the point is that not much effort is seen to be made to travel to NSXPO by some in CA (and the West Coast). Therefore, let's try and represent well next year down in FL at NSXPO '06. Many of us won't be able to make it for some of the reasons mentioned above, but with our total numbers we should be able to equal at least the number that the NE continually gets to NSXPO's across the country from them.

Vamp, How can you miss your ride but yet spend dollars on it? The NSXPO's are the best, you are missing out my friend. Hope to meet you.

I don't do it because I rather spend time and money on my car to make it look better.
Why not let everyone else appreciate your hard work and beauty of your NSX - show it off.

My man,

You need to expand your horizon little more. 50 miles? Wow!!! Sorry, I just don't get it. I hope you get the courage to venture out more than 50 mile in your future.

Like I said, we have the most cars in the region. Lets not think the NSX world revolves around So Cal.
Some owners won't attend local events even if they are FREE, so it's not about money, time or family! Everyone can make the time to go to NSXPO or other events, it's whether they want to attend or if they can get permission to attend. In essence leave these people alone. Because no matter that everyone raves about NSXPO they aren't gonna attend and it doesn't matter whether its in their own region or in their own backyard :frown: :frown:.

"If you want something bad enough, you'll get it - if you didn't get it, you didn't want it bad enough" This holds true for everything that is in your control and not controlled by the will of another person.

The nice thing about people I've met while attending these events is that they are genuinely enthusiastic about being there and meeting one another...so I'm thinking we may be better off not twisting the arms of those who simply aren't. :p
