There were a couple of Tweets today from people who appears to have done the drive event/were in the factory but no narrative information.
The team from the dealership I am purchasing from will be there tomorrow and I am hoping they come through for us with some real updates.

Great. Exactly what I feared. Very disappointing. Shameful that they don't allow the iron rotor option for early adopters. I'd rather replace their presumed ~$3K extra profit from forcing this on me by paying $3,001.00 for a mandatory "Launch Edition" decal (or whatever).....
This is a heavy car that develops high speeds before braking zones. At track speeds, 90% of braking work is going to be good old friction brakes. I expect it to eat pads if pushed hard.
I've asked my dealer (who I think in in Ohio this week) to get details on consumables costs (iron v. carbon).
Oh well.....

Spoke with my dealers GM yesterday. Their assigned NSX sales person/rep is in Ohio this week as well. I asked the GM about production and he said he was told it started a few weeks ago.
I hope to get more info when the rep returns.

Calm down here team.
We had no reason to expect sales in April as units sold refers to vehicles delivered to customers.
All Honda said was that serial production would start in late April.
We should have gotten more Intel out of the folks in Ohio for training by now. Perhaps Hobda has asked them to keep their experiences to themselves for a few days.

Um, no. That "honor" would go to the Acura RLX. From the customer's standpoint (or at least THIS customer's standpoint), the entire release was bungled from A to Z. Let me count the ways......but I won't, as it will just waste my time and make my stomach churn. Besides, Acura's already paid the price for awful product planning with nonexistent sales.
Compared to the RLX, the final release of the NSX is going incredibly well.
Sorry yes Acura form the rest of the worlds eyes we only see Honda as Acura is predominantly a USA brand.
It would be interesting to see how the roll-out for the rest of the world will be the UK seems to be the only market to have some activity we haven't heard anything to date about Japan and here in Australia all we here are crickets Honda Aust. have no idea when we will see the NSX it doesn't look like anything will happen this yr.

Do we know what "serial" means, exactly? Is that full speed / all kinks worked out, or just literal "serial production," albeit slower and less steady than "normal?"
Will the first cars pop out of the factory and get delivered to customers before "serial production?"
Acura has not started production for John Q Public.....at this point
I looked up serial production having never heard the term before.
Here's what I found:
"Serial production is characterized by the production of a batch of products after which, production is stopped. At this time it is possible to adapt the manufacturing machines for the production of a new type of product. Also stopping of production in anticipation of another order is commonly used.
The main difference between mass production and serial production is the continuity of the work. In the case of mass production manufacturing of products is carried out on a continuous basis, there is no production breaks."
Maybe that means the factory sets up and runs a batch of white NSX's, then shuts down, changes the parts colors and bins to say, black, and then starts again for a batch of blacks?

Production has not started, I'm still in Ohio and hate typing from an iPad in a hotel room but I'll start a thread tomm when I get back to work. This car is simply amazing, I've driven everything and anything and the new NSX has blown me away. We tore the track up in 6 pre production models and the endless power, glue like handling and overall experience has changed my opinion of hybrid sport cars. Acura has a winner on its hands without a doubt. Sadly it make me realize two things, one how slow my current crop of cars are and two, I must get one. I'll wait for the hype to subside but I haven't been this excited about a car since the first time I saw the original NSX!

Good to hear!
Supposed to start within a month, they don't want any issues or hiccups. You only get one chance to make a first impression.

Don't think they would do that again, maybe a Senna edition this time around.
Thanks for the direct feedback The Kid, just adding to what I was expecting once we were told it would have eSH-AWD. Having owned a Legend with that trickery [and I'm sure neuronbob will back me up] I had no doubt that Honda's wizardry with their algorithms in SH-AWD would turn the NSX into something formidable. Only problem being it does help if you spend some time learning how to extract the most out of it.
