OK-
I got a few cans at HD today - my interest is in temporary protection at the track for the nose and mirrors etc. - I will see if it thins with anything I have around and will report back. Note: Additional research says it has to spray air-less -- so a compressor is out, I suppose. Thanks SourceNSX
take your time. 100 degree is way too hot for me to work on the car When I was spraying my rim, it was 90-95 outside and it was tiring with several 7-11 stops for ice cold drink

My S2k has the same exact Rpf1 wheels. so now i know exactly how it will look except i have a hardtop. Lokks great. I will be ordering a kit next weeek:smile:After only a couple coats. It's to hot to complete.
Only a 100 degrees. Mine is reading 105. Bigger question is are you letting Kyle drive with the top down on the S2k today? That sounds more like a convection oven, pull him out before he gets overcooked!
Think I'm hooked. How is Source 1 like a gentleman's club....you pay your money and leave both with a big smile on your face.
Have a couple of questions I will have to catch up with you on first on whether i should look to pdr for a couple of small dings on the hood, etc but seeing white car with gunmetal enkei's in my future.
Thanks for sharing what you've got going on over there.
After further experimentation I learned that the dip is resistant to gasoline, oil, and even aircraft remover as long as you don't rub it. Then I tried paint. The enamel brushed on was fine and didn't bubble or warp the paint. Spray paint however bonded the plasti-dip to the surface more and it was slightly more difficult to remove. None of the chemicals made it through the plasti-dip though. This stuff is AMAZING!!
I know this is a bit off topic, but what exactly does this stuff do inside your lungs? I would have to put a level IV biohazard suit to feel comfortable spraying it on.

Source, can you tell me where to get proper alcohol? I'm going to dip my toes into this with a small can from home depot and once I figure out what I'm doing buy a bunch of stuff from you.
Guys I'm jumping on this thread a bit late but here goes. I have Advan RS's in gunmetal and would like to try gold. This seems like an opportunity to try one wheel and if I don't likey, I can peel it back off. So what "Golds" are there to choose from? Thanks. Also, do I have to do any sanding on my gloss finish?
Bronze or some sort of Deep dark gold color you shoot Black then Gold Metalizer. (did not like)
Gold you will shoot white then gold metalizer.
The more Metalizer you apply the more the color shows. It is very easy to mis-shade the wheels if not sprayed evenly.
No sanding, prep work is to ensure clean surface. I usually just degrease mine then go to work. The more coats applied the easier it is to remove.
Use a trash bag for the brake calipers unless you take off the wheel which is not necessary. If sprayed on the car I would cover the vicinity of the body area around the wheel. You can buy the plastic sheets at Lowes or Home Depot to cover your car. If you do get over spray just wash your car the stuff rubs right off.
You can't really mess this up! No comment if you do.
=)
I'm experimenting for track days [instead of rolls of tape]- this is two cans, hand sprayed- maybe 10-12 light coats. I'm hooked. Washes up with Citrus cleaner, like goo-gone or [orange cleaner ] or paint thinner.
So any pictures of gold yet?
