NSX Slow?

All aluminum, mid engine design, hand built, design and handling input from arguably the best F1 driver of all time, motor revs to 8000 rpm, limited production ultra rare, as capable or better than most exotics when it was released (including Ferrari), revered in its country of origin. All this in showrooms in 1990.

Yes, it is an exotic.

And lets not forget, Jeremy Clarkson said it was a supercar. That's a stamp of approval right there. ;)

+1 I've admired the NSX ever since I first saw one in R&T magazine while stationed at Roosey Roads in 91...thought it was an exotic then...still think it's one now, even though I drive mine everyday, and have 200k miles on her.

I am a little confused by why it is so important for people to consider the NSX an "exotic" car. I go to the racetrack (road courses of California and Nevada) about 50 days a year. I have seen every imaginable "exotic" on the track. They are invariably slow. For one thing, their drivers are afraid to crash them. And just because you are rich enough to afford a Murcielago does not mean you have any driving skills. Plus a lot of exotics are quite heavy, and the awd ones understeer like crazy.

Most of the time, a well-driven Spec Miata will beat an "exotic" on track.

I know what you mean, you are 100% correct about the skill factor and money on those cars.
We are just stating the truth. Lol I can care less about what other people think (I just like to enjoy the car) but the truth is, its a exotic car.

Well, I think the question has been beaten to death and most of it comes down to perspective.
What we can all agree on is that slow is COMPLETLY subjective but there is no doubt that the NSX is a awesome road car, maybe not much of a drag racer but take it out on canyon runs and with the right driver you can keep up while taking advantage of its handling and linear power.
I will now agree that yes it's an exotic and while not a supercar anymore in todays standards, it was released as one. Rarely seen by most people and on par with other exotics in its design and engineering at time of initial release in the 90's.
It is a car to be appreciated by the right people for what it is and what it isn't.
This subject while always be subjective and the answer will be different no matter who you ask. Best thing to do is drive one and get the feel of it. Also take into consideration that you can pull up somewhere and 99% chance is that there will be no other like it in the lot. Now gtfo and drive. (i say that nicely :] )
