NSX-R scooped hood....aerodynamic assistance??

Detlef --

This is a photo of Armando's car when it was in the shop to repair his collision damage from a car backing into his. As I explained in the e-mail I sent you several weeks ago, the Cantrell NSX-R hood in this photo was installed before the bumper was installed and the striker assembly adjusted. As you can see, once they are properly installed, the lines are great. You may want to provide some additional information before posting a photo out of context. ;)

Cheers,
-- Chris

He knew it was mine, but made a fatal rookie mistake of trying to bust my Kevlar lined balls :)

Gotta love the kevlar!!! Armando or Chris...do you happen to have some picture of the underside of that hood??

Here's a close up. As you can see, the hood is vacuum bagged in the mold for strength and light weight. What you see is the compressed carbon fiber against the honeycomb. Unlike other hoods, the Cantrell is a one piece full carbon / Nomex honeycomb hood. There is not a top and bottom frame to delaminate. This is the same type of construction used on the Ferrari Enzo hood.

Thanks, Chris!! On a side note...do you guys have any other carbon fiber B-pillars besides the I's Impact??

Yes, Cantrell is finishing up the tooling to begin running these. They are vacuum bagged epoxy resin parts. Much stronger than polyester. Watch the vendor's forum for a post soon.

I will...I told Seth a few months ago when I ordered my front spoiler that I wanted those pieces when you had them done.
