My AdLib generate all kind of FM tones! And next year I will add the SoundBlaster or the Gravis Ultrasound to my PC!!!

PS: you probably do not know what I am talking about (Neo, does!) but you are kind of right joking about PCs... :)

LOL !

Hey, I understand what you're talking about ! I know PCs too but I prefer the Macs... They paid for my NSX ! ;)

Damn Enzo!

Ditch that incompatible piece of............@%$#!!!!!
Wasted another 10 seconds of download ;)

BTW, Thankx DeeWee for the informative thread.
Hope to see you soon on one of the tracks.

Great idea!

Perhaps it would be an idea (maybe after the race) to sum up all the modifications made to the NSX-R for the race with the reason why the parts or settings where changed.

Something like (for example):
'We replaced the OEM shocks with Bilsteins shocks' because it was found that the OEM shocks where not stiff enough to handle the unsprung weight with the heavier Movit brakes installed'.

It think it might be very interesting for all NSX-drivers to read about this, especially since so many of us are interested in modifying their cars.
It might even be an idea for NSXCA-driver magazine.
Great idea... and NSX Driver (print) or NSX Prime (online) would be great venues for such a writeup.

We understand that some of the "secret mods" will remain so, in the interests of competitive secrecy :D. Of course, specific tuning and setup parameters that you spent LOTS of seat-time refining, need not be revealed.

There are no special secrets about the car.

I've had the chance to see all details

The add power comes from a special header, racing catpipes and exhaust, the air intake system and a special ECU made by
HONDA R&D. (320-330 hp)
The Fujitsubo exhaust isnt too loud, 94db at 4.000 rpm.
It was the only thing I dont liked. Too metallic and high frequenced sound, not really good.
At the trophy races I've heard some better sounds, even at street cars. Maybe we can change it for the next year.

The NSX-R real secret is the low weight.
I made an 1 hour testdrive with the T-car..... the acceleration is
better than I thought. The sound is incredible for a stock car.
Think that the complete car glass section is thinner than OEM.

The cf parts are produced in an unbelievable quality too.

The most sympathic thing is that the japanese guys produce parts in best cf quality and than they paint them black or white. They prefer the inner worth....no show.
Nevertheless the car is a real eyecatcher.

Do you know that there only exist 40 of the NSX-R ?

Do you have special questions ????.... please ask.

The NSX-R race car will stay in Germany.

GS Motorsport got the order from HONDA to repair the car.
I estimate the damage about 25-30.000 USD if they change all parts.

A new engine will be installed too, the old one will be shipped back to japan.
I know that the oil pressure at the end of the race was down, I suppose that the motor oil collapsed.
The gearbox will get a complete set of new synchronizer springs,
the old ones are gone.
The drivers have had problems to change the gears into the corners.... there was too much movement into the mounting rubbers. They was stock too.

You can take a look at the car this year at the IAA expo in Frankfurt.

This car will race at the 24h Nürburgring 2004 again.
A lot of time to update some details.

Will any of the aftermarket products used on the R car ever see public sales? I know the air box is from Dali, it is next on my list for purchase. I own a 2002 with reduced weight, headers and exhaust. I want to get a catrace pipe, and computer upgrade but no one makes the items for the 02. Not much else is available for 02 and up right now. Is the NSX R still a throttle by wire system with stock throttle body and intake manifold?
320-330 HP numbers are what I want out of my 2002. Any help would be great.
Thanks
AJKS

The NSX-R has a 4 parts air intake. (Complete DaliRacing kit)
-cf intake connector (for the throttle by wire system...yes the
NSX-R use the same system, the stock throttle body and intake manifold
-cf Airbox with APEXI filter
-cf fender scoop
-cf side vents

The catrace pipes are available also at this factory, the racecar uses race cats from HJS.
The computer upgrade comes directly from japan (HONDA R&D)
and isnt available at the market.
Surely I could try to organize one, but this stuff is very very expensive.
If you have installed an effective exhaust system with headers and catpipes and the complete Dali air intake system, you should have enough power.
I have the same mods at my car and I'm happy, even at the track. Another secret is the gearbox with short gears.

I drived the NSX-R T-car too for several times and I think I can assess my impressions.

The last suspension kick the NSX-R gots with the Dali racing sway bars.
The drivers told about a better handling after that modification.

I like the way the japanese guys modified the NSX, at last the car weight is the real secret.
The engine is stock.... the same engine as in your car.
Try to get some weight out of the car, use cf parts as possible.
But its an expensive way.

I know that the real NSX-R style wing is available soon, also the hoods and the fenders.

The seats are heavyweight , I would install a set of Recaros.
Also the Tein RE suspension and a set of ultralight VOLK wheels.
I know that these parts are still lighter than the NSX-R parts

After that mods I'm sure that you can have a Type R feeling too.
I think you will like it.

I mean that the NSX type NA 2 uses heavy seats...... like the NA1.
I dont spoke about the Type R seats.
:)

A technical info:
The NSX-R Recaro seats weights 12.8 kg (28.8 lbs) each, they also use seat rails with electrical adjustment.

The OEM leather seats weights 18.5 kg (41.6 lbs) each, also with electrical adjustment seat rails.

The Type R seats lost weight about 1/3

After many inquiries for buying the cf air intake parts I wanna tell you that these parts are only available at DaliRacing in California.

www.daliracing.com

DaliRacing sended 2 kits to me, one for the NSX-R race car and one for my own NSX.
But I dont wanna sell my kit. Its too fantastic.
I never would replace it against the OEM airbox.
The sound is so fantastic.... and the Apexi Airfilter is probably the best airfilter worldwide, like the japanes guys tested.

I know that DaliRacing has all parts you need at stock.
Best way to get these parts is to contact this company.
So you can have these parts soon.
DaliRacings shipped that parts to me in 4 days.... a real good time for a trip around the half world.

No further things to say.....
Thx for your interests to read my report.
I'll be back next year with some news about the NSX-R.
