NSX Injector O RINGS If you care

Would it make more sense to just buy new ones cost wise? Of course the cost for cleaning and balancing them would be cheaper... but I'm not sure if I can afford the downtime as my NSX is my daily driver......

I overnighted mine Wednesday. They got them Thursday and shipped them back on Friday afternoon. I received them Wednesday. (Labor day weekend may have slowed return shipping.)

Cool, thanks.

I am crossing my fingers they get back to me on friday, as I had a weekend trip planned and paid for overnight both ways. If not, I'll be cruising in the hooptie. Small price to pay.

Enkrypted,

I was looking for a 'core set' of 3.0 injectors we could use, but ended up not being able to find any. I bet you could call joe toth at ERZ and find a set of 3.0s.

Just a thought.

Mark

Cool! Maybe a winter project.

Yea I wonder how much the turn around time would be if I took them by their shop? They are local to us in LA... might be worth a call while my car is in the shop soon....

It took RC one day to redo mine. I Fedexed to them on Wednesday and got them back on Friday.

They came back with fresh seals. All you need is the aluminum crush rings if you send them to RC. The car does seem to idle a little quieter now.

FWIW, my car has 53k and my injectors were (4) good (1) fair and (1) dripping. All between 221 and 240 before. All excellent and 244-246 after. Apparently techron additive doesn't do the trick by itself.

is this the right part # for these injector O-Rings?

quantity: 6: p/n: 16473-P10-A01 ??

They're smaller than a dime in diameter and about a quarter inch tall...... is this all I need for the injectors for my 1995 NSX-T? Thanks!

I use the parts breakdown on acuraoemparts.com. It shows the following seals are required for changing 1995 NSX-T injector seals.
1) six 16473-P10-A01 or 16473-PD6-000 (The site list both #'s. I'm thinking either one will work as they aren't really seals, they're cushions for the fuel rail.)
2) six 91301-PM7-003
3) six 16472-PH7-003
4) six 91302-POA-A00

If you send you injectors to RC Engineering, they will come with new #1,2,3 seals (above). Not sure about #4.

If you still have doubts about what to buy, go with what Larry Bastanza recommends (scroll up a few posts). Every time I've needed info in the past, his info has been correct without fail.

You can also go to acuraoemparts.com enter your car information and look at the parts breakdown yourself and compare it to your injectors.

ok...don't forget that my car is a 97 NA1 coupe (built in late 94 or early 95) and these part-numbers appeared
trhough my VIN (at Dali)

91301-PM7-003 x6
91302-P0A-A00 x6
16472-P0H-A01 x6
16473-P10-A01 x6 (the old PN was 16473-PD6-000)

the last one, i got 4 with the new part number and 2 with the old. They are
exactly the same in shape, but the rubber is a little different...the new ones are a little softer, but best finished.

tonight when i get home i'll post here a photo of all of them.

A Note to all NSX owner's , If your car is more than 10 years old REPLACE your injector top orings, to the rail and lower seals to the manifold . These orings fail and leak W/O notice. I have GOTTSPD's car here at my shop ,a Pristine 1992 with Low miles and the orings were DEAD. Who needs a fire , Right!!!

Thx Redbird92..I think this is one of the most simple, but extremely important advice I have ever gotten. Will do. U da Man!

Bringing an 'old' thread back ot life. I've dismounted the fuel injectors tonight. The O-rings will be replaced and the all fuel lines too.

BTW: My O-rings didn't crack while dismounting they looked fresh BUT SEATED. So replacing them WAS NECESSARY IMO.

One question: Is it worth balancing/cleaning the fuel injectors by RC if they look clean, the car is/has 91/ 65k miles and the engine runs smooth with very good dynos or is it just a waste of money in my case?

Forget about my previous question as I've sent them out, not to RC but to a local Honda garage with the same equipement. RC wanted to charge $100+ for sending them back, haha. Ok, it's express delivery. Swiss people will like this: Honda City-Garage G. Bachmann in 9443 Widnau, Switzerland does it at a very reasonable price.

Update? How is everything with the fuel injectors? Is this hard to DIY?

I am curious, since my car is the same year as yours with same mileage. Mine idles smooth also and the compression is pretty even across all cyls.

after reading this I bought injector o rings...i have a 96 with 80K miles.

My NSX tech told me the o rings looked fine so I didn't install them. Car runs fine but I guess i'll change them out some other time.

It's quite an easy DIY as long as you know how to work on a fuel system (caution!). The fuel injectors have been fine and cleaned. There was no significant change after reinstall. In my case it was somewhat of a (little) waste of (little) money but I like the fact that they're cleaned now and she maybe delivers more power (have to dyno her). Changing the o-rings is for savety reasons and it's cheap anyway. Good to know that I don't have to care the next 10 years.

Thats great, I am glad you got it all done. I think it is money well spent and will probably do the same myself.

I will say that you have inspired me to do more things on my car myself. Thanks for all your inputs.

Thanks and good luck! Feel free to ask any questions on this forum like I did in the past to get some input from other members.

Hi,
I just bought a 1991 with 145k miles. Based on this info I think I'm going to pull the injectors and send them off to be cleaned and replace the additional seal. Is there anything else I should do while I'm in there?

Thanks very much!
You folks are incredibly helpful!

Thank goodness for this thread! I had almost run out of parts to replace on my engine this month that are not broken.

I didn't want the downtime so I recently purchased used Lo mile OEM injectors from another Prime member and just sent them in to RC Eng to be cleaned and flowed. Thanks for the tips everyone!

I will check out the coils on the rear bank when I am in there.

Ok, so reading through this thread, I am so confused and If someone could post the proper parts for a 1991 car only, I would appreciate it.
Thanks, Trev
