NSX Injector O RINGS If you care

Thanks for your input... so how does one know that an injector is bad once its removed?

Hey Enkrpt3d, How many miles on the car? Sounds like you might have a few things going on at once. A dirty<carbon> throttle plate,EGR tube slightly clogged , old fuel filter, dirty injectors-ive seen widely differnet flow rates per injector with higher mileage, high mileage on the spark plugs,****** valves in need of ADJ, TW sensor -ive seen these do random things to drivabilty w/o setting the CEL,weak coils, esp the rear bank , which always seems to get water in or near them from washing the car etc. To bad your in CA , I 'd help you out and keep the bill reasonable, doing only what's needed BEN

Ps Boring the T/B is good for TOP END performance ,WOT, I dont do it for normal street diving , I think it kills low to mid throttle response it the car is otherwise stock

With out putting a Honda injector in a machine as RC has ,you cant really see if its "dripping "at spec'd pressure, common problem w these. Its one of those things just send them out ,if you can have the car down for a couple days and get them blueprinted. On all the SCCA race cars i build I get this done to get all the injectors the same flow , or a straggler back up to snuff, without buying new ones. occasionally you will have to replace one or two if they cant clean them. Most of the time on normal street cars i just put on new orings and send the car , unless we suspect troulble or have high mileage , say 50 k or more and If no one ever changed the fuel filter Ben

Hi Mike , we will put a new one on your car when we do the main relay, opps even im not tooo perfect HAHAHA! Hope you have a great weekend !!

My ride just hit 73K miles... I was thinking of taking my car up to Ron98 (he doesn't know it yet lol) and have all the parts in hand before the trip up there... new Timing belt, new water pump, new O-Rings, new plugs, new valve cover gaskets, and coils if I need to replace them...I'll also get the much needed Throttlebody cleaned and valves adjusted... I'll have all the things you mentioned checked for sure ;) thx for your advice!

Dont forget to get a NEW timing belt tensioner VERY IMPORTANT !!!!!!!!!!!!!
DID you get the valve cover tube seals and all the grommetts? BEN

Hi redbird,

if i wanted to buy new RC injectors for my NA1, what would be the right injector (part number) and possible cost for all 6??? my car have 185000kms or 116k for you US guys

You can look it up here, for example:

http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/jsp/catdisplay.jsp

001 06164-P0A-000 INJECTOR SET, FUEL 6 1991 NSX 129.93 103.42

The price is for ONE fuel injector. Do you still want to replace parts not actually needed to replace? :)

aehheaeah.... not, not at all... but about 50000kms ago i had my injectors balanced...and there were quite some differences... i figure that next time i have them checked, in case of mismatch, i would rather replace them with new ones than balance them again...

those prices you posted are for OEMs... i prefer RC's

I have not yet bought all the parts... I will start doing this asap.. can you give me a list of parts that I might need for a TB change and other items that will need to be changed? Send me a PM if its not appropriate for this thread. Thanks!

not much cheaper than OEM.

UnhuZ: If you say you had differences between them why did you even measure them? Did you have a problem with the engine?

Can the OEM ones be rebuilt as the RC's? Price? What is the cause of the differences between injectors? Do Fuel cleaner additives which you can buy at a shop really help?

I'd say 20% cheaper is more than 'much cheaper than OEM' considering what you are getting vs OEM. You aren't getting a random bag of 6 fuel injectors that will probably flow with significant variances STRAIGHT OUT OF THE BOX. You are getting a matched set of injectors that have been verified to provide the flow rates you order.

Unless you have an aftermarket ecu that will allow you to tune the fuel for EACH INDIVIDUAL CYLINDER, (after you have to get a/f ratios for EACH INDIVIDUAL CYLINDER TOO) having unmatched injectors will have some cylinders running leaner or richer than others... not good considering you'd have to spend another $130 on OEM replacements to have to have this uncertainty.

yeap...major problem...measuring them was a search for a possible cause of the problem.... i've posted before my problem...i'll search for it tomorrow and post it here....time to go to bed now (it's 2h30 am here  )

ehahe

i always use the stock ones... NGK PFR6G-11

Seems like I'd only be able to use these since I'm not FI:

NGK Laser Platinum - No. 6 - NSX, 1995-2005 (each)

Was that the spark coil that ate your valves in one cylinder or do I mistake you for someone else?

yeap...that's me ;)... the injector measuring was one of the possible things to do to find out the source of the problem.... they had different measures, but nothing that bad that could cause the problem...

how does this happen exactly?
