And here are some more pics of the 1:24 scale Tamiya kit I built as the Castrol GT500 prototype finished in carbon fibre:

cf prototype cockpit - the roof was left black because that's what it showed in the photos I was basing the model from. I'm guessing because that was only BODY PANEL left in alluminum......can anyone confirm that?

Last pic of my cf prototype. Top view. I saw a 1:43 scale ebbro in all-carbon fiber but I didn't bother getting it....now that I think about it, I wish I had.

I started messing around with CF decalling in my Mobile 1 as well....It's kind of messy, just like my cf prototype, but I was just starting to experiment with decal softener - Gunze Sangyo Mr. MARK SOFTER. I tried this other stuff but it was to much of a pain in the @$$. Mr. MARK SOFTER was the easiest to use.

Half painted CF intake. The intake is all CF. In the race car, it's half-painted and the lower half is left in bare CF. Tamiya's instructions call for you to mix this nasty color and paint the CF area, but I had leftover CF decalling so I used it here.....if you look closely, you'll notice it's not the right scale....anyway, it looks better than plain paint.
