Putting a time on the conversion is difficult, I can give you a general idea of how long it took me. If you have all the proper tools it may take you more or less time than it took me.

Pulling the taillights and center piece about 1 1/2 hours.

Separating the lens from the taillight housing about 45 minutes- you need a large pot and proceed slow.

Removing the left over glue from the lens and housing 3 hours- I was pretty thorough.

Preparing housing for leds 1/2 hour

Installing new leds 1 hour.

Gluing lens back to housing 1/2 hour (24hr wait for glue to cure)

Reinstalling taillights 1 1/2 hour.

Total time for the install for me was about 8 hours 45 min done over several days, I'm sure most of you could shave this time down.

The install is easy once you have the kit, that is why I recommend getting the taillights out and prepping prior to receiving the kit.

I have finished my install of the LEDs and here are some comments:

The lights look and work great. A nice updated look. There is no bulb out warning light or hyperblinking.

The diffuser (the plastic lens right beneath the red lens) makes each LED indistinct,

but is necessary to hide the LED board and the epoxy - which in my install, was pretty messy - though hidden beneath the diffuser.

I took my time and tried to be very careful in the disassembly and still mananged to chip the red plastic lens. I reused the foam gaskets and despite being careful, I caused some tearing. I just 'repaired' the gaskets using the caulk. I think it should work fine.

the process took a lot more time than described in an earlier post, but still worthwhile and yields a sense of accomplishment.

I would think that if I had to pay someone to 'just do it' for me, I would pay an additional $300....

The entire process would be way easier if someone just sold the housing and the red lens/diffuser as separate parts without being glued together.

Thank you for your review. I'm glad your lights work great. It's unfortunate your broke your lens during the process. Through my experiences, I have learned not every set of taillights is the same, as far as opening them is concerned. I usually notice if the taillights are older than 10 years old, they have more of a chance of cracking. I've noticed many older sets of taillights have really sun-dried taillight gaskets, which is an indication of potentially brittle taillight lenses.

I've heard mixed reviews from my customers about opening the taillights, and I will support both both reviews. Some taillights are harder to get open than others.
