I don't think it would matter what I had in my account today. It's all down at this point. Off by 390k today. OUCH.
i'm sorry, are you saying you're down $390,000 TODAY?
if so, boy... some folks would call that real money.

Question for you guys...
I'm currently using Schwab to trade (averaging only 1 trade per week) and there fee's are 12.95 under 1,000 shares.
I'm looking to average around 3-5 trades per day and I have the feeling there are better/cheaper trading platforms/brokers out there for 10-20 per week.
Also I thought I remember reading on the Schwab site a while back that x amount of trades qualified you as a "day trader" and your account fee's increased. I can't seem to find the info now that I need it.
Better options out there for 3-5 on average per day? And what typically constitutes "day trading", hence higher fee's.

It's just money. I can make more of it. I am healthly my family is healthy, that is what really matters. It's fustrating no doubt about that.
Thanks Ryan, STeve and Silverstone!
I'm assuming you've got to have 25k in "value" and not cash, correct...?
So as long as its there you can continue trading at "day trader" volume at whatever fee your broker charges and everything is good?
Long GS @ 101. Pray.
pray for 136.97 please.
I'll take that any day.
Don't you all think now is a good time to invest? The market is SO down it has to go up soon and it should hit hard when it does.????????
why isn't FCX up with gold up so far?

I haven't used ameritrade and silverstone is a very smart guy who probably knows more then I do, but interactive brokers is the best 'discount' broker for me. It has the best currency/intl market configuration and I like the options format. It's quite possible for mainly listed equities ameritrade is just as good or better.
IB is awesome as well. They have a very nice trading platform, and you can trade anything. The console is a little too much for me, though. I don't trade forex and options positions are very straight forward. Sometimes Steve talks about options strategies that are over my head.
I trade in large share lots, so Ameritrade with its flat fees was the best choice.

McCain says SEC chairman should be fired. LOL I love it, you know it's getting bad when the pizza dude told me the market is going to shit when he brought over my pizza today at lunch
Sold SKF @ $151.00
Bought GS @ $91.82
GS plummeted in a near-instant! My SKF had just sold, and GS was at $100... in the time it took to enter my order (<60sec) it hit $93, then I clicked refresh and it was down to $87!! Got in a few seconds later and it was back up $5. Now all the way back up to $101 while SKF has cooled to below $140. Talk about fluctuations.
