Gran Turismo 5 FINALLY coming on November 2, 2010

Waiting 20min for the game to install on my PS3...

I've heard it takes closer to an hour (assuming you do the full 8GB install and download the initial patch). I don't expect to play at all tonight...but DO plan to install it (after removing a bunch of demos from the HDD).

Just picked up GT5 and the Logitech force feedback steering wheel..... now waiting for it to install and patch...........

Already earned 90k credits. Debating on getting the 91 Acura NSX, or save up for the Honda NSX-R...

*Edit* Just bought the NSX-R for $120k. It has the interior view mode, but the tach is kinda dim/hard to see

yes the nsx has front chin spoiler, sideskirts, cf hood, titanium exhaust and prodrive rims ( couldn't find volk ce28 to match mine, probably unlocked later)

My thumbs hurt...just got done blowing a few hours on the game. A couple things. I purchased the collectors edition. The key chain looked better on the web. In person it's kinda chintzy. :frown: The die cast GTR is pretty cool, as is the small book the game comes with. I just saw a note that the PSN network is having slowdown issues due to the large number of folks playing, installing, and patching. Hence I won't try to get my free cars for a day or so. Other than that, I am having fun zipping around in my Mini. I decided to go that route and mod it to get the hang of things. Before I step up to the more expensive and faster rides.

Mine has been at "55 seconds remaining" for quite some time now...

Woah...there's a huge difference in quality between the Standard and Premium models. I sync'd my PSP garage with GT5 first thing to give me some familiar cars to check out and, as I feared, ALL of the cars transferred via the "Portable Garage" are Standard models (even if Premium equivalents exist).

These NSXs (including the JGTC variations) looked great in GT4's Photo Mode, but the premium NSXs in GT5 are (aside from the aforementioned mistake on the '91 Acura NSX's rear taillights) glorious.

Yea it starts out saying 20 minutes and sits there for about 30 minutes and then it counts down very slowly..... took about 45 minutes to patch & install....

I need to buy a real seat so I can mount the steering wheel on it..... right now its not very comfy to play for extended periods of time with it mounted on the coffee table lol

lets see some of your setups!

Last night I attempted to get all goal with my wheel I was only able to get 2 out of 5 trails with gold. All others were silver. It was very frustrating until I realized my fanatec wheel was loosing connection randomly throughout my runs. I since then gotten all gold in the B class with a controller. I'm going to have to buy a cable for the wheel so I don't have to deal with this wireless connection. I guess my setup is causing interference for the IR signal. :(. So far it's been pretty good with the wheel though when it works.

I too am surprised how bad the standard cars look compared to the premium. It's a big difference, so I'm going to try to purchase a 91 NSX first and just use that, I really wanted to buy a NSX Type-S Zero in Magnum Grey Pearl but forget that lol.

I bought myself a used Type S sebring silver. Its the closet one that looks like my car. It sucks cause you cant put different wheels on it.

I am having some issues with the fanatec not grabbing gears correctly. Most 2 and 3. It's annoying. I am installing the patch now so hope that helps. I may need to update the firmware on wheel.

OK LADIES, add me: oscar_driver , let's have some fun online! :D Today I raced for the first time and came 4th, the second 1st (only b/c a Zr1 In front left the room, but still LOL) .... I am driving a 380hp type-S red :D

More or less the same thing, minus the CF and $1300 price tag.

amazing setup, I see you take this all the way out. Cool. looking into that one day.

have you played GT5 on it? I was thinking of the manual transmission setup but was wondering how well it works in games?

Can you do burnouts like revving up the engine and dropping the clutch? or high gear burnouts? basically how well does the clutch really work?

Here's mine (PSN = JDMoption):
