The NSX is awesome and I'll keep it a long time. Just seems like it needs a garage mate. Which one is better in your opinion, 04 Viper or 06 Z06? They're both around the same price range now.

Viper just because you see less of them on the roads compared to corvettes.

If it were me I would go for the Viper. I see Z06's all the time. Vipers not so much. Not to mention the sound of the V10 at full tilt is pretty damn cool.

It really is up to you/personal preference. Some will strongly argue one way or another, both have faults, but both have awesome strong points.

Personally, I like the crude, raw, rediculousness of the Viper over the more refined Z06 - primarily track use, I don't have much time on either on the street, and like everyone already said, you don't see as many Vipers as Z06s.

The Z06 is an awesome car, but it's still a high-end corvette (i'm aware the C6 Z06 has a different body and chassis), while the Viper IMO will go down in the history books as something a little more special -well, mostly the 1st Gen but the 2nd is still badass and more refined.

Go drive both and see what you like.

c6 zo6, there is something about the new z06 I like better than the viper....

I'd put the 2 side by side and follow your gut. I personally prefer the Viper, considering you have the NSX. If I didn't love my NSX, I think I would be in the Zo6 market. But since I have the NSX, I would probably prefer the Viper. I don't know, I actually love both.

So many cars, so little money...

neither, get a winter beater and spend the rest on track time (or you can sponsor my racing career:biggrin:)

sigh .... that is hot ....

I like the Viper for the following:

Largest mass produced engine in the world with regards to displacement and the bragging rights for that in the "Size matters" audience.

But if u want:

Brute force that can be daily driven
lighter weight
better MPGs
Fit & finish
lower Cost of Ownership
Larger and cheaper aftermarket support\
Better selection of mechanics that can work on them

Get the Z06

I really don't understand what all the confusion is about.

Just get the Mid Engine Viper.

No brainer... Viper... And if you decide to go the Viper route, PM me if you need help. I've gotten to know a lot of the comunity over there at VCA and can give you a fair bit of advice.

Most of the advantanges of the Z06 are around comfort, ease of use, cupholders, etc. You have the NSX for comfort cruising. This will be your BEAST car.

If you buy a C6 Z06 now you will see it drop in HALF in value in two years almost definitely. I was looking at 04 C5 Z06s recently with like 11k miles and they were $22k.

The Viper will always be more exotic, low production, interesting etc. It will hold up much better value wise.

The stock C6 Z06 will be slightly faster than the Gen 3 Viper, but the V10 has a LOT of room for easy modding. Getting a Gen 3 to outrun a C6 Z is VERY easy.

Also, the orange one is a GTS coupe. There are two models, but the GTS coupe for the Gen 3 came in 06, so you will have to look at the 06s to find them. I was VERY close to buying a blue 06 GTS when I decided to come back to the NSX. My choices were down to C6 Z06, 06 Viper GTS, 02 911TT, 01 Esprit TT and a CTSC NSX. I drove them all and then decided to come back to the NSX. Its very subjective so driving them is also very important.

Of course you cant go wrong either way (especially if you dont care about depreciation). They are both awesome cars with VERY few downsides.

The NSX doesn't have practical cup holders like the Z06.

I don't think Vipers hold their value better than a Z06. This guys' been trying to sell his at this wonderful price with a warranty: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/eby/cto/1290794059.html

Getting a Z06 to outrun a Viper is pretty easy too.

Look up the FI options. It's silly HP. Is 1200rwhp suffice?

When u entire the realm of well hung engines, it doesn't take much engine viagra to yield eye-popping results...........

The cars are completely different as one is a vert and the other is a hardtop. That right there should make a huge difference to anyone cross shopping them. The 03, 04, 05 Vipers have been hit pretty hard in the last year as have all cars in that price range, including NSX's. You really need to drive both as they are not as similar as you would think from looking at the stat sheets. The Viper is raw and the Vette is more of a DD. Can't go wrong either way, and as someone already said they will make the NSX feel very slow.

Correct, the Viper I'm looking at is a 04 convertible while the 06 Z06 is a hardtop. Drove both and still can't seem to make a decision. Both are great in their own way. I'll have to admit the Z06 was easier to drive then the Viper. The NSX still felt better though. If only it had 450-500 HP... Yes, CTSC or Turbo is always an option, but the cost of adding it would already be like 40% of buying the Z06 or Viper.

Vette.

Viper.

No contest.

It depends on what you are doing with it. The Z06 it is a great daily driver, super fast, looks awesome, but it isn't very exotic.

The Viper is much more exotic IMO and will surely get more stares. I think the build quality is pretty awful though.

If it was just a toy car, Personally I would get a used F355 :) .. HAH.. bet you thought I was going to say Z06!
