Carbon 6: Super GT Mirror

I can't see myself doing that anytime soon . Sorry.

I spoke with you on the phone right? Have you pmed him? I know he said he might but maybe just busy?

Yep, that was me bro. Yep, pmed while back. Was noted as part of a potential 2nd GB. But did not happen. No worries, Post #241 Jeff is not making these units anymore and moving onto other projects. :frown:

Here's an idea. Somebody kidnap him like Tony stark in the first Iron man and MAKE him build 5 more sets! :D.

If you guys have already changed your minds, then feel free to take yourself off the list.
This is a list of people who would now be in the 2nd group buy if he did decide to make another limited production run:

1) Rogerd (I'm not sure if you got the last of the dark smoked mirrors)
2) ALwAyS4SaLe
3) Ko-nsx
4) NSXRAY1
5) Dozerdog
6) Nsxchnk
7) Sleek
8) Junior40er
9) Phoenix599

Jeff I really like the smoked version. Can you explain the process for us?

If you are referring to the process of tinting the clear coat, I put a few drops of black pigment in the clear. Once that tacks up, I put a regular clear coat over the top. That way they can be buffed/waxed without effecting the tint layer.

update: The last 2 mirrors are completed.

As of right now, I will not be making any more of these. I am moving on to new projects. I will post those as they are available.

A special thank you for all the buyers. You can be assured that you have a very limited production hand made part.

Jeff

Not sure if any of you posting your names on a list saw this. They are no longer being offered.

What about the S2K S-GT mirrors, they can be fit it on our nsx like Dan (Na1/2 gtr) did with his Nsx. If he is willing to make the plate to fit the mirrors we would have something close to the carbon 6, just saying.

Spoon S2K Mirrors Vs. Carbon 6 Mirrors

Manual Adjustment Vs. Powered mirrors using oem connectors
FRP Vs. Pure carbon fiber
$850 Vs. $2000
Requires modified plate Vs. Plug and play

IMHO it's worth the extra money, especially on a NSX

Hopefully with this indefinite 2nd group buy we can get a great deal.

I was just giving an alternative in case Jeff decides to no make more mirrors thats all. Whether is worth the money or not it depends on everybody individualy. About the adjustment on the mirrors, I don't think the electric part would be a braking point because I don't think we move our mirrors to a different position everything we drive nor we share our car with others to get them adjusted.

Make your own mirrors, problem solved.

Since the mirrors were a limited production run that was promised to be limited edition, it is extremely unlikely that Jeff will make any more regardless of how much "interest" you guys try to put together. It's not the money, its about what Jeff wants his loyal customers to appreciate the craft of what he has given them.

If you are dead set on different mirrors, I can think of 10 other "for profit" companies that can accomplish the task of crafting side mirrors for the NSX. Just send out some emails to them and see what they say. :) You might be surprised, because at $2,000 for side mirrors that's a bit excessive. (considering this is still a Honda, and many other mirrors can be had from $300-400 full carbon fiber..)

didnt know about the s2k spoon mirrors. they look pretty close if not exact to the carbon 6 mirrors. the carbon 6 yes are better but those would be a nice alternative.

If you have more people interested in those mirrors maybe you should ask Dan since he made those plates to fit the mirrors on his X. Now at 850 plus paint plus the plate idk how much cheaper would end up being compare to Jeff's.

The Spoon Aero Mirrors are also Discontinued, for about a year; assuming you can locate a set, with the USD/JPY as it is, you're looking at about $1200 for a pair.

Jeff mentioned he used both the Spoon Aero mirrors, and dimensions from Dome, in creating the shape of his Super GT mirror; For a stock body the Spoon mirror is likely a better fit, since it's smaller than the Super GT mirror.
