California home of the garage queen NSX's by choice

You rich people disgust me :mad::mad: I'll go hangout with my po friends now ya hear....:cool:

I do not understand why 93 octane is not available in Cali. Every other state I've lived in has it.

 Why do you need 93 octane anyway? The cars here don't ever require it. Do they in other states?

A state that doesn't allow/trust it's law abiding citizens to protect themselves....

I don't know how any one lives there.

Yeah, I guess I'm just lucky that I've made it all the way to 54 years-old without being mugged. BTW, I was born in Burbank, CA and my dad was born in San Francisco.

A few hundred thousand people LESS paying taxes and just as many people sucking off the system? That's your dream for California?
Good luck with the new 13% state tax.

Florida. Great fishing. Hot babes. Good gun laws. ZERO STATE INCOME TAX and we're sucking up all the good wealthy retirees from NY, NJ, MI, CT, MA.
It's like this. Teacher works in NJ all her life. Retires at 55 with 100k salary.
NJ pays her 70% of that for the rest of her life NO MATTER WHERE SHE LIVES.
Easy choice to buy a condo in FL, live here from Oct to April, establish FL residency. Florida is a good place to live and a better place to DIE.

Downside, Florida has no mountains. :(

I got the F out of NJ 14 years ago and never looked back. If I want snow, I'll go visit it. If I want mountains I'll hop a plane. (going to Aspen next week :smile:)

Don't you have a wee bit of humidity and mosquitoes? That's what I hear. I've never been there, although my mom was born there.

High performance engines require higher octane gas for a stable burn. Otherwise, upon compression lower octane gas will pre-detonate which will lead to broken parts. Higher octane gas is pretty much a must for the FI cars.

In general the gripe with low octane gas is that we're stuck with low octane gas. The possibilities are greater if manufacturers and DIY tuners have access to cheap high octane gas like back in the old days when we had 93oct.

A car performs just fine if they are tuned for low octane gas. One might think you're leaving a lot of missing performance on the table though.

This thread was on the grounds for ball busting not "hating" Cali on the grounds of them banning something "food". Most of you are talking about larger factors and even whipping out politics when all I want to talk about is food! Stop getting your panties in a bunch people.

So, sduffass, are you sad about not having duck livers in CA? :frown:

Am I the only one that has been guilty of thinking your name reads like STFU out of the corner of my eye?

Btw even though I agree with you you're still an ass.

:)

I'm sad that some won't be able to experience it and that a state can actually have the power to ban food. Protesters tried banning the usage of it in restaurants in Philly with posters and camping outside restaurants that offered it on their menus. It's crap, there's more important things to worry about in Philly than what Chefs create and serve "like murder and crime" for one, or how dirty our city is, haha

Plenty of 100 octane options. It's all my baby eats.:smile:

Wait! What! There are liberals on the other side of the country? Say it isn't so! I thought they were all here in this pitiful state where we have no money and can't defend ourselves.

I see. I'm not much of a foodie so I've never had foie gras and didn't have any plans to try it.

One of the biggest things in the news in the past few years has been different cities here banning plastic bags. I don't know if that's another California thing or country-wide. Since we're close to the Pacific Ocean, the bags wind up in there and screw up the animals.

Yeah I've heard of it. I guess that's why more and more grocery stores are pushing for those fabric bags to reuse. It makes sense. I think the only two that kind of toss it in your face are Trader Joes and Fresh Grocers in my area, I never shop there though cause they're stuff is overpriced.

Yeah, I go to Trader Joes and they're big on it but they use paper sacks. I go there mainly for eggs. A dozen JUMBO eggs are only $1.79. I get a double-yolk about once every 4th dozen. Kinda cool. Twins.
