My latest modification, which came on UPS yesterday, was the last nail in the 'ACURA' coffin. See what I mean?

Very nice. Did you change just the airbag module, or the whole steering wheel.

Bet you didn't remove the yellow sticker in the engine bay about coolant change interval. It says 'Acura'. Hehe

I changed the whole wheel. The one I got from Japan was in better shape than mine. The top cruise button has japanese writing on it, under the 'RESUME' word. Pretty neat. Thanks for the engine bay tip. I'm on that as soon as the sun rises.

Whats that little box by the guage cluster. (VTEC controller?)

Ive seen a lot of cars in the U.S. rebadged to Honda. Some even have the airbag. Most people, however, don't have the Honda tape deck flap. Mine's out of a junkyard '93 Accord:

I saw someone selling them on ebay a while back for something like $300. I couldn't believe it when I saw the ad. Wonder if he got any takers?

Old decks are like $50-$75 at the junkyard, and I believe that any that say "Honda Bose" from the same general era will yield a tape deck flap that will fit right into the NSX head unit perfectly.

Just curious, what's the point of changing all the badging to Honda? Hope you don't get offended, since I really am curious to know.

That doesn't offend me. Here's my take on the whole Honda/Acura thing. The HONDA corporation devised the 'Acura' name as a marketing strategy. There is no 'Acura Built' automobile. The NSX is the top of the line auto to ever roll out of any Honda production facility. To me, its a slap in the face to put a name on it, that is nothing more than that, a name. Giving credit where credit is due would be my best reason as to why I've changed the A to H everywhere on the car. Im still astonished, that after 17 years in this country, alot of people STILL have NO clue that Acura and Honda are one in the same. I cant even count the number of people, on one hand, that approach me weekly, and say, "Honda WISHED they could make a car that fine. Only Acura can do that. Why do you have 'H' on it?". After I explained the situation to one gentlemen, he quietly proved the point that the Honda had in mind when they they dreamed up the name Acura. He said, "If I wanted a Honda, i'd buy a Civic for $12,999, I wouldn't pay $70,000 for one".

My NSX has everything Honda on the outside. I dislike the Acura name and its logo. The NSX is known as a "Honda NSX" everywhere on this planet other than the U.S and Canada. I believe this car should have the REAL emblem of the company that manufactured it. The first thing I did when I got my NSX was to ditch everything Acura from my NSX. The outside is done and the interior is next. Some may think that doing this downgrades the car to a lesser status. I think otherwise and passionately to the point of eradicating anything Acura on my NSX. I always refer my NSX as a Honda NSX, always.

I'd love to do the same makeover to my GSR but since it's my daily driver, I'm not touching it since anything Honda on it will disappear.

Does your WW kit the same color shade as your car or two different shade of white?
BTW your car look great.

No, the kit is a shade or 2 off. Thing is, I own a PPG paint and body shop, and I mixed the color PRECISELY to what the HONDA paint book calls for. There are only a couple other tints to add to pure white, to come up with Grand Prix White. It still came out a different shade. Its not off by much, but its off, so that means repaint. I'll probably do the whole car this time, so i'm ASSURED of a match. Thanks!

The funniest was the other day I had a guy tell me that the only difference between the Honda NSX and the Acura NSX is the Honda was cheaper??? He then proceeded to point out that mine had the Acura on the steering wheel, but Honda on the engine and asked me if I was trying to make mine look like the Acura. Ha, got to love people that think they know and really have no idea.

I still love the woman who looked at my car looked at the engine(my cover is off)looked at my wheels and told her husband that it was a new honda "equip" (i have work wheels)

This quote just solidifies what I've been saying for years now. Americans are to dependant on names, mag articles, numbers, or just stats in general. Just cuz Honda makes 13K econocars doesn't mean the same company can't create a high end sports car? It runs with the best yet cuz it also makes an econ car their sports car is crap as well? Honda in my opinion has one of the best and richest race historys to date. It seems whatever form of motorsports they are racing in, they win. MX, Indy, F1 (back in the day), Supercross, etc. So why do people still look down on them? Seems back asswards to me.
