Advan AVS Model 5's, where are you at?

Haven't seen these wheels on a white NSX yet. Anyone have pics? I am putting together a set of 17/18. Dont know what color to refinish it yet but leaning towards gunmetal. bright silver or gunmetal on white?

I put my oem side skirts back on, washed the car, and went for a drive for the first time in months, and of course the first drive with the model 5s.
I stopped to take a few pics with my phone.

not bad... are the fronts more aggressive then the rears?

The fronts did rub a couple times today. These 215/40/17 star specs just can't help themselves I think.
I have 5mm spacers on the front and rear. The front wheels are 17x7 +35 and the rears are 18x9 +40.

Why did you run a spacer on the front ? Will it no clear without it?

It would clear just fine I'm sure. I actually didn't try it. I was running 20mm spacers with my 02 wheels and according to my calculations even with this spacer the new model 5 fronts are 5mm further into the wheel well with the spacer than my previous setup. I was hoping that'd make it not rub.

Looks great Cozmo! I would definitely add a rear spacer... or remove the front spacers and maybe put in the rear for a more agressive rear setup.

If it were mine I'd add a black front spoiler/lip and maybe do the NSXR wing black or go back to oem... but either way car looks great!

Alright guys... I just picked up a second NSX. Blk/blk Targa 50k original miles BONE STOCK clean carfax no paint. I'm going through my 20+ Advan Model 5's and also just picked up a full set of 19" from Japan (thanks to Synth's hookup) in 19x9 40mm and 19x10 45mm. I will be building an additional set in addition to my 17/18 and 18/19 for my new car. I'm contemplating sizing/colors for my blk/blk NSX but it will be super low on Advan Model 5's... maybe use the 17/18 gunmetal? 18/19 in Silver?

Going for this look! Oem body... just super low and clean. Car has stock airbox, stock radio, stock exhaust, BONE stock LOL.

I have a new front lip but I'm waiting until I replace the lower bumper to install it. I also have an 02+ rear valence. They both need paint. Not sure when I'll get around to paying for that. :P

LOL ya. Well here's the point I came to. I recently had my lime green entirely redone so it is 100% immaculate. I no longer want to drive it as I did. So I considered selling the Lime green and buying a 360. But decided to buy this blk/blk Targa 96' clean title clean carfax 50k miles all original bone stock and drive instead. We'll see what the future holds and my liquidity needs. I still may sell one, or both! I'm currently house shopping and that is never cheap.

Congrats! Berlina is the fastest color ;) lol

I hear you on that one.

A buddy of mine sold his 997 to help buy a home as his family kept growing; but housing costs kept climbing and hence his desired home was STILL out of reach... So LOL he bought another 997!

btw. did you refresh the interior of the car too?

So what is up with "these" wheels? http://www.nsxprime.com/forum/showt...odel-5-Bright-silver-NEW-18x8-30-amp-19x10-19

I'm running brand spankin new 215-35 and 275-30's. Will I have issues? These would rock on my black NSX with BBK.
Somebody tell me something!

Davidf,

This should put your mind at ease regarding the fitment. nsx0t1c has the most history and knowledge regarding fitment on stock bodied cars given that he has had quite a number of Model 5 wheels and other brands. The price is very good. I think part of the problem with IMS_NAs sale has to do with the timing near the holidays.

You can find more pics of an even more aggressive set up here http://www.nsxprime.com/forum/showthread.php/169705-Has-anyone-run-concave-FRONT-and-REAR-TE37-s-in-18-19?p=1667632&viewfull=1#post1667632

Good luck!

There are several factors in mind here. In MY particular case, I'm not willing to compromise my ride height so these wheels will not work for me. Actually, the rears will probably work with 255/30 and using a narrower brand like Falken. The fronts will absolutely not work in my case unless I used a narrow tire like falken, raised the car a bit, and/or removed my fender liners. When I ran 18x8 +37, I rubbed on full lock, but the tires I used were S-drives which are known to run wider then most. With that said, 18x8 +30 is cutting it close and I would insist on a test fitment before risking it.

Well I recently bought S-Drives and yes they are considerable wider than my same sized Hankooks. I have heard of people milling a few MM from the rear of the hub. Not sure how much can be safely milled though. Thank guys. I guess if the offsets were more favorable these would been gone already.

Funny thing is, I've wanted 18/19 RS's for as long as I can remember and now 6 months after getting them, I want that M5 look.
It is getting harder keeping up with you wheel whores.

Any body run 17x8 plus 30 in the front? Dunno if I asked this prior
