I've seen a 95 at a dealer, supposedly equipped with a supercharger that boosts it to 500hp. It's red. It has 37000 miles on it. The dealer says it is "as close to formula 1 as you can get." He want's $70,000 for it. Is this worth it?

IMO, it is not worth $70k. You can pick up a clean 95 NSX for $40K and spend $15k to build up your motor and supercharge/turbocharge it. Get the info on the supercharger system/mods, then you would know if they are overstating the hp numbers. Most of the NSXs out there with superchargers are not even close to 500hp. What other mods does it have?. If there is a high end brake and suspension system plus other mods, it would bring the value closer

Unless he has substantial internal engine mods, he's not making 500 HP. Get the details of what the car has. If he can't tell you anyhting beyond the fact that it has a CT supercharger installed, run away!!

500hp yeah ok not unless he has pistons and lots of boost at least 15 to 18 and watch out it even may need more remember superchargers are belt driven.

naaman - print this page off, and let the BS-ing salesman read it. Then watch for his facial expression as he realizes he is full of hot air.

Does he claim 500hp? Or 500rwhp? There is a pretty big difference between the two. One of our NSX's has been running around for the past 4 months with about 425rwhp in daily driven form, with 91 octane, stock motor, CTSC, and a shot of NOS.
