I got my car (2020) back yesterday after almost three weeks at the dealer for the recall and some deferred maintenance, and it’s finally ready for me to put miles on it. Some noobie comments and questions:
The NSX techs seem to hate doing the fuel pump recall. The NSX tech at my usual dealer took a few days to do it, just being careful as folks appear scared to touch these cars. So far, so good, not that I had any issues in the first place.
My car had 4680 miles when I dropped it off and the rear tires were already at 4/32, so I had both rears replaced with stock Conti SportContact 6. There were less than 4 in the entire dealer network, but my dealer managed to snag two of them. Is less than 5k miles the usual wear for these tires? Note: my car came with Eibach lowering springs. The dealer checked alignment “under warranty”
, and it was normal for stock. When the rears wear out next time, I’m moving to Michelin Pilot Sport 4S for the full set.
I had the oil changed just because the last one was 18 months ago, and even though the maintenance minder indicated 70% life. I heard about the back order on the oil filter, but my dealer had no trouble finding one, it appears. As far as frequency, I keep seeing advice to follow the maintenance minder. Are people actually doing this? My current plan is to change it yearly as it’ll be driven at the very most, 4-5k miles a year.
Last: I LOVE the full titanium Pride Exhaust (charge pipes, downpipes, catted dual exhaust). Video enclosed. That alone made this used NSX purchase worth it even with no CCBs.
