350Z vs NSX

Yes, 260Z.

What's weird about that?

the 350z and the nsx shouldn't even be compared, the 350z doesn't even come close to the nsx. the nsx is an exotic and rare car, whereas the 350z is a mass produced not rare, not special car.

Ahhh... For some reason in my mind I only remember the 240Z and the 280Z. Didn't know there was a 260Z (shame on me!!!) :D

I don't think I ever saw a 260Z at the numerous Z club gatherings I've been to in the past...

Nobody brought up the recent Road and Track article where the 350 track model beat the M3 and 996 on the road course. I'd say the 350 would be a good match for 97+ NSXs and it'll dust earlier models. [/B][/QUOTE]

WHAT I really dont think so

I think so.

I think it's quite reasonable to think that the track edition of the 350Z would be very competitive against the NSX.

It depends on what you consider "competitive", and which NSX you're referring to.

For example, magazine tests of bone-stock cars have the 350Z accelerating significantly slower than even an early 5-speed NSX Coupe, with 350Z 0-60 times in the mid to upper five second range.

OTOH, on the track, it's easy for a faster driver with a slower car to beat a slower driver with a faster car.

And with cars that are fairly close in capabilities - say, within half a second 0-60 - one is not going to run away from another.

Based on the magazine numbers and their translation into real world driving, I think a 350Z will be fairly close to a '91-94 NSX Coupe, not as close to a '97+ 3.2-liter 6-speed NSX-T, let alone a 3.2-liter NSX Coupe.

The "Track" version of the 350Z has some pretty nice brakes and that's important on the track too.
